Benny is still the man. This brings back memories. I remember like yesterday, when I used to look at articles and pictures from him and Pete "Sugarfoot" Cunningham. BOTH of those guys were (and are) fast. People like them, Fariborz, Manfredi & Parulski, Tommy Tulleners, He Il Cho, Douglas Wong, Bill "Superfoot" Wallace, Ron Howard, Steve Sanders, and MANY OTHERS really don't get the respect they deserve TODAY for their invaluable contributions to the World of Martial Arts.

I met him a few days ago at team karate woodland hills ca because I was interested in the kick boxing program but really can't afford it right now. I didn't know that much about him till I went home that night and searched him on Google I couldn't fucking believe that I had the privilege to spend 45 minutes talking to him and he showed me so much kindness and respect when I am just an average joe Such a martial arts legend and I didn't even know. Had I known who he was I don't think I could left the dojo that night. What a man !

You were so fortune by accident to have spent time with a legend int he full-contact MA world. He was the best lightweight world champion. On the same level as a Chuck Norris, Joe lewis, Bill "superfoot" Wallace. He was the REAL DEAL...who happens to be willing to teach. There are so many ex-professional fighters who don't bother. If we could learn fight techniques from any one it should be from some one that's actually "been there done that". Benny was a WORLD champion. :) The man has skills that work and he's proven. Not just one of many talkers. The breakdown of basic kickboxing movies here...shows us how "untouchable" a full-contact fighter really is. (VS someone in-experienced or even trained as a traditional MA...you see where all traditional MA care coming from...their punches and kicks...it's usually telegraphed. Kickboxing, boxing (western), Muay Thai are full-contact arts designed for real full-on combat. This is why I think some MMA fights are fixed...when you know one fighter has boxing training. Or started from a boxing training (e.g. Holly Holm)...and then loses to an MMA fighter. Most MMA fighters spread themselves too thin...learn a bit of this and that..."jack of all trades master of none". Even if these people don't compete or never join a kickboxing gym...they came away with moves that work. If they practice it.

Ive got great great respect for this man. No bullshit like many tutoral doing all kind of fantasy moves. This is simple to understand and great knowledge, even though its very basic. You can not hear knowledge enough in my opinion.

The hammer and chisel will make you twizzle then drizzle. These students are so fortunate to have The Jet teach them from his wealth of knowledge and experience. They will learn more than just fighting, they will learn about respect and knowledge of self from this master trainer. Back in the 80s, my Kung Fu teacher always mentioned Benny Urquidez as the pinnacle of kickboxing as an art form as well as a ring fighter. Like Benny, he too was a traditional, disciplined martial artist who was always humble and respectful towards everybody. In competition, or sparring, the speed, power, timing, accuracy and control were phenomenal.

Complete explanation of the details on what to do, how to do it, and WHY it is being done. The hammer and chissel makes it so clear that Sensei has such a mastery of the physics behind the strikes. Can't wait to get on The Mat to work on them. Thank you Sensei.

Benny #1 I've been into boxing and kick boxing for decades, no one explains key fundamentals like Benny, I especially noted the transition he mentioned from body-shot to uppercut, I've always brought my arm back after a body shot, not anymore, great tip from Benny.

I believe The Jet lost one fight on a technicality in what seems like an endless bout of challenges. I have been binge watching his fights with my eyes bugging out. I cannot believe how he dismantles his opponents. One particular fight ended with him throwing this guy over his shoulder following standing kicks. He is an amazing full contact martial artist with renewed respect from yours truly. Imagine telling yourself, "Oh yeah, Benny wins this one too." Over and over and over.

@pious predecessor ..... a number of World Champs in KickBoxing have come out of his Camp (The Jet Center) He has issues with the character, personal discipline & behavior that is to often common with MMA ... and as such does not train any. It’s unfortunate as he would have lots to contribute. One of my Brothers trained with Benny back in the 70’s & says he’s the Best Coach he’s ever worked with
