He said, out there in the jungle it's dangerous, but in here, in the monastery, it's safe. Yeah. It must be the aura of peace surrounding the beautiful Buddhist temple column at 1:04. That mystical, leash-shaped aura of peace.

@sirus804 Tigers do develop bonds, quite easily. (As do lions.) They're also calm and incredibly peaceful, even amongst each other. The real risk with living with a big cat is that when it's pissed off, those slight wounds you get with a housecat translates into something else when upscaled to tiger size.

whoa. talk about a mind-blower! petting a tiger,jeez!but i was`nt exactly suprised. the tiger WAS pretty relaxed

Being afraid of tigers isn't a phobia. It's a natural response and completely healthy! I've got a "getting ripped in half" phobia that I never want to confront!!

@Medracin Interesting. Im glad you brought that up. I started getting a weird feeling about this monastery when he said they believed those tigers were monks that lived there. First of all, a monk (a serious one, that is) being reborn as a tiger would indicate that he wasnt a very good monk. In fact, he wasnt a very good person at all. Second, even if they were the tigers have absolutely no memory of their past human life so how would they be any different from captive or wild tigers?
@05khanha13 жыл бұрын
People always say don't show fear but they really don't explain what that means. Stuff like don't run, don't turn your back towards them unless you are far, dont even sit down let alone lay down cause its all about presence etc. They should also say exactly what annoys them.
@MorphineDreams17 жыл бұрын
There's no dobut that they are wild but i believe they've become accustomed to a life with plenty of food, clean water, easy living and the affectionate pat that they feel no need to attack or threaten. They recognize that humans are a source of comfort and stability. Why mess with a good thing?
@Hs.FilmStudy16 жыл бұрын
The point about them not being wild is very relevant and puts this all in context. It's not really a 'miracle' as Crudelli would have it. btw i checked out some of ur videos.. some good stuff, mate :)
@sux0rz18 жыл бұрын
Its interesting what he says at the end about being calm... you can easily use that sort of attitude in any situation in life. If you feel threatened... then just be calm

Since many people who post positive things about the tiger temple and think that the police actually care, I suggest searching "Illegal wildlife trading in bangkok, thailand caught on film" in KZbin. There is a police station right around the corner from this notorious market!!

@Medracin That is sad to hear. I'm agnostic, but I think that Buddhism itself is a beautiful religion.

White Tigers cannot survive in the wild because it's white (and its very noticable) so their prey notices them easily and runs away.

i dont wanna get involved in this argument thing or whatever, but um.. those tigers seem perfectly happy, and if they were being abused, they wouldnt let the monks go near them, theyd just attack... and obviously its not illigal because other wise the police would have seen this and gone to do something about it

@kungfufreddy Well through my research thats not the case. According to the wheel of life, they are in a separate category as us higher sentient beings. They are treated with the same compassion, but they are not on the same level as us. Better karma will result in being reborn into a being that is more capable understanding of samsara and nirvana. Ive talked to monks before. What sect are you referring to? That might explain why we are thinking differently.

The police do nothing about animal abuse unless tourists do a lot of complaining. That's why gibbons, an endangered species, are paraded around Patong right in front of the police. Are you an animal behavior expert? How do you know the tigers are happy? They don't appear to be smiling :-)

"Against their religion?" Monks get caught doing all sorts of immoral and unethical things all the time. You're living in a dream world if you think these monks are doing this purely out of concern and compassion. If they REALLY cared about the tigers they'd get professional assistance and they'd GET LEGAL! They are running an illegal business and in any developed country they'd be arrested or at least shut down.
@soareletroy16 жыл бұрын
i love tigers the tigers are some veru beautiful animals they are wild animals and they ganna be respected but they are not some killing machines.i think that the humans must change they must understand and respect animals.Not the animals are killing us actusly we are killling animals.

oh ya tiger handlers there incase, thought they were suppose to be rencarnated, i mean be cool and all but still they are big they have teeth they have claws they'll eat you if their tummy growls it's a freaking wild animal not your neighbor
@PaddleAsia15 жыл бұрын
"Safe havens" don't include beating, drugging and a high likelihood of being traded to another country. I suggest you do a bit more research, please. You can find plenty of info at thaiwildorchids (dot) com/tiger-temple-abuse (dot) htm There are links to professional animal care organizations that say some pretty alarming things about this 'haven'.

They don't attack the monks out of FEAR! There are other videos online showing the alpha monks hitting the tigers will big sticks. There are also handlers who abuse the tigers regularly. Learn something about animal behavior and pecking orders, please.

No, do some more research please. Siberian Tigers are "natually" orange.

@ianedwards19 tigers are drugged in a temple?! These monks believe that those tigers are reincarnated monks. The temple isn't doing a tiger show like in zoos to earn money. You need some buddhist lesson, friend.
@PaddleAsia15 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't give money to any place that abuses animals. I don't have to go there to have an opinion on the place. I didn't go to Michael Vick's house to watch a dog fight. Does that mean I can't have a negative opinion about the place? Comment on why this place is not getting legal or getting professional help in caring for the tigers. Otherwise, you're just going there because you think it's cool to pet a tiger, which is selfish, pathetic and has NOTHING to do with what's best for the tigers.

Oh, then you should have read more and talked less youngster. LOL A lot of people complain about the police not doing their job. It all falls on deaf ears. The one thing that does seem to work is causing them to 'loose face', which is apparently more important than ethics and upholding the law. Believe me, there are plenty of people and international animal welfare organizations complaining about the tiger temple, but as long as tourist go there, the cops figure it's OK. Moaning completed :-)
@blackasmidnight1415 жыл бұрын
Cause im a flippin 15 year old kid! Geez! i was only pointing out what i thought! calm down for cryin out loud! i only figured that if the police knew about it, theyd do something if there was something wrong! obviously there are different laws there! you wanna moan about it? moan to the government of whatever place it is!

@hodenkrampf3 Just a tiger? Rottweilers only weigh around 100 pounds.. Tigers are 500-600 pounds of muscle. Even if we did domesticate them, they're still too dangerous... Tigers are not like dogs. Tigers are not social animals like dogs.. so they wouldn't develop a bond to their owner, like a dog does. So there may be a time when your domesticated tiger would get mad or angry.. and if you're in the way.. That's it. A Tiger can kill you easily.. A dog can't.
