i have a 2014 expedition /running two- 12s kicker rs in a ground shaker box--///a hifonics 3200 watt zeus with bass control-/also a hifonics 1200 for the mids and tweeters/bass control on the 3200 amp-equalizer-added /300 amp alt-/two batteries/ this thing rocks big time-- like a live concert on wheels love it

Jacob Lackey, the 2007 sport trac is very limited in space. You need to decide how much space you can give up. Do you want to remove the rear seats, put a box under the seats or behind the seats?

How you answer that will determine the size of the enclosure and then that will tell us what type of sub you need to fit it.

As far as what amp you need, that's just going to depend on your budget. I'd recommend going double or triple the rated power that you need. Because once you factor in impedance rise you're going to get less power then you realize. If you're not trying to be super loud and just want something nice and musical then a few hundred watts should be more than enough. You'd probably be looking at one of the cxa series amps.

I've used many kicker subs throughout the yrs from the gold series old school ones many different cvrs, cvx , and L7 mainly the 07 models haven't really tried any of the newest lite up and they've been good to me ive never blown any of the subs ive only kickers have always been good to me

2018 jeep grand cherokee...I have two L7 Q class 12s in a custom box with a keef port..on the CXA 1800.(sounds frickn amazing) .. i ran a PAC AP4 CH41 Line out converter... would the keylock work better for my lil set up???

No joke the Kicker LOC is the best LOC on the market, not even playing. Back in the day my first kicker set up was a 10" L5 installed in a factory Kicker 1.25cu ft ported box with the Kicker logo embroidered in the front panel (it was so sick looking) and I paired that with a Kicker ZX400.1 and rocked that set up until 2 years ago! I finally fried the coil pushing 550 watts to it for shiz and giggles haha, it sounded great till it didn't. I upgraded to a 10" L7S in a custom 1cu ft sealed enclosure paired with a Kicker IQ500.1 installed in a hatchback, wanting to keep the footprint of the system small while not compromising on the bass to much. For me it's, Kicker or nothing.

If you get fiberglass in your skin the best way to get it off is when taking shower start with coldest temp you can take to keep you pores closed and get loose fibers off then go to hot water opens pores to get fibers out

Using a Comp R is completely doable. A couple of notes that will be true for any sub we make... 1) Make sure you have at least 1" of clearance between the floor and the sub 2) Power the sub with RMS power, not peak. Ideally we recommend being within 20% of RMS (above or below). 3) Airspace is key. Look on our product pages to get Min/Max recommended enclosure sizes. Using a box size right in the middle of those numbers will deliver the best overall response, but you may want to change it if you want an especially deep response, or a tighter, punchy response. I have a comp rt in a rear door on my van. I switched it out to an L7T. MORE surface area. Slight more xmax and can handle more power. I mean come on. It's a no brainer. Im gonna get another for my other door. With 1 it slightly shakes my beads on my rear view. 2 will get me the car shaking I want.

Hi! The L7 line is more of an SPL-centered product line. If you want SQL, then the KICKER CompQ is the best choice, as it's made specifically for SQL applications.

@@sanj5026 Anything square is going to be more about SPL and moving air rather than fidelity. I'd focus on a round sub like the CompR you mentioned and get it in a sealed enclosure!

@@KICKER-AUDIO that's great thanks for the update! I'm looking for it to hit 30hz to 40hz that my factory Harman kardon subwoofer just can't do. It'll be a custom setup in my Dodge Durango with the following approx available space 8.5 inch depth (top to bottom), 37.5inch width 16.5 inch length (from rear to front). Any dimensions you can recommend to give to my car audio shop for the best SQL application with a kicker comp r? Thanks!

@@sanj5026 If SQ is the goal, the enclosure should be sealed, but size just kind of depends on how much space you've got - which it sounds like you've got plenty! The minimum enclosure volume for a CompR 10 inch is 0.8 cubic feet, or 22.7 liters, while the maximum is 1.25 cubic feet, or 35.4 liters. You can find that info in the manual here along with some panel dimensions - www.kicker.com/app/manuals/48CWR.pdf But if your box builders want the Thiele/Small Parameters so they have all the info they need to build, those are also on the product page for each individual CompR. The T/S parameters are different between 2ohm & 4ohm models, so make sure they're looking at the right one! Can you take the measurements of the trunk? There are two main factors: available air space and how much power you have. Knowing the airspace is the first logical part, since there are definitely situations where stuffing too many subs in the box is definitely a bad thing.

Whatever.. I have to Solo x 12's on a Warhorse 3.6 and 1 stopped playing. Apparently no reason, coil is clean and I do not clip my subs. No visible damage tested every way possible. Kicker denied a replacement saying anything voice coil related is not covered. Which I believe there is a mechanical failure. The worst part is how dismissive support was. It's the principle. After showing quite a few folks around and in the shops we are all baffled about the whole situation. I'll just get rid of all the kicker speakers. But won't even think about letting the Warhorse go.

Our Q Class subs are some of the very few out there that do carry a three warranty when buying from an authorized dealer, but yes, we do need it to be purchased through authorized channels.
