Am I the only one that figured out the Harper Murray incident took place later than this was originally recorded. I'm pretty sure the Future Farmers of America State convention at PBA was March 29-31 and during that time Cook made his speech. They left Lincoln awhile ago and returned home. Harpers DUI was 5 April. But of course people can't wait to run their mouths without first doing a little research.

No one is saying he had to comment in this. He's been silent outside of this venue. Despite his, stop DUI ad... depite DUI hit and runner Lauren still being promoted in a tone deaf failure. Its a pattern from him of it is only a problem when he or his players are the victim, not when they are the culprit.

Never stops amazing me that some city guy can go buy some broke 1/4 horses, a pair of Wrangler Jeans n Boots and a snap down long sleeve shirt and a cowboy hat, go to a few not real rodeo events and all of a sudden he's a Cowboy ????? No offense Coach....but it takes a helluva lot more than just buying your way into being a Sidewalk Cowboy.....and Being a real honest to God sweat stained, sun and wind burnt faced, Fence ridin, calf pullin, dirt eatin, sleepin on the ground an drinkin 3 day old water out of a canteen by God Cowboy !

It's not a crime to pick up a hobby that you have some interest in. He never claimed to be a true cowboy. That was a name given to him by the fans and players. He's been a successful coach for many years in a top program in the country and was eventually paid well for his hard work and dedication. He's a very humble guy and has the right to do whatever he wants with his hard-earned money. He loves animals and treats them very good. Some people don't know what they want to do when they retire, and coach Cook is just planning ahead. He just wants to stay active and live as long as he can. Coach Cook is a very busy man, and everybody wants his attention so of course he has to hire people to help out till he can dedicate the rest of his time with his new hobby.

Lauren DUI hits and runs... minimizes it. Krause gets hit, all of a sudden he speaks out vocally against it. Murry gets a DUI and crickets again. The flip flopping hypocrisy is sickening.

@@pascoflman8443 neat cherry pick. And he absolutely can say something before court, he's not a defendant nor witness. He can show his condemnation when Krause was hit, is real and not just only when it suits him.

@@cliveklg7739 it sounds more like the university more than just the coach though, because read the statement from the university about the situation. Give it 4 months and you will see how it plays out. I would bet that he has spoken to his team about it, but is told to keep quiet. Krause is a whole different story. A player gets hit during a season who was playing and all of a sudden is in street clothes, he has to let people know why or Nebraska fans are quick to give wrong information about why she was not playing.

Murray incident happened after this was recorded. I’m guessing Cooks response would be dictated by NU administration due to legal ramifications. Players sue when things aren’t handled properly by a university. So a person doesn’t get a second chance after a problem with the law? Still too early to know exactly how it will be handled. Imagine how Harper feels. No one was hurt. Only Harper’s image and legal record. So you would just dismiss her? Heard on news tonight she is allowed to practice with team. No word on Spring match.

If I remember correctly, both players were made to have a press conference to respond and apologize to the public… both were met with two games suspensions plus what other internal discipline was handed out that wasn’t revealed to the public. I would guess something similar would happen here!
