You make that pace look effortless! Impressive how you caught those R1’s up again after the back marker slowed you down.

Cuban, Great vdo as usual. What would be cool is having a front facing back mounted camera to see your body position on the XR when racing.

@wayneshephard4 жыл бұрын
@@RobE8475 I've got 4 bikes in the shed, Triumph Sprint, Cbr1000rr and a nice motard and they never go anywhere now, I'm finding I come back from rides where I'm normally tired and look for the long way home, I love the BMW, I'm eating up the k's on it, nearly got the Triumph Sport, another great machine but this thing is definitely several cuts above the Trumpy, but a few extra bucks too 🙂

Anyone can pin it on the straights... The real skill is under breaking and in the corners. Sweet riding - by U at least. 😉

That's NCCAR, right? I've been there but in a car. It's OK for cars but obviously the track is meant for bikes, the long and round curves. My understanding is that it was a test track for motorcycle tires, by various manufacturers. But great skills (thumbs up)!
@CubanRider4 жыл бұрын
Yes Sir, NCCar and when we do track days we call it NCBike. It's a great track, very smooth and lots of grip. Now I'm in the opposite side of the country so I really miss it. It would make an amazing drift track for cars when wet with its long corners.

Adjusting spring only changes the ride height, not stiffness. Stiffness is controlled by compression adjustment. Rebound controls the oscillation of spring or how fast the suspension is allowed to spring back to normal height.
@CubanRider4 жыл бұрын
More height, more lean angle before the pegs drag. 😉

Not exactly the same animal but I have an R1200R and I ride it in the 2 person suspension setting because one person is way too soft and one person with luggage is still a little bit squishy when you really start pushing it. Next up is Traxxion Dynamics cartridges and a better shock.

Great skill in riding. It looks to me that you are keeping up even if you lack the power to pass. Such is the penalty of a deficit of 40 bhp (and 40? pounds of extra weight). Edit: correction, I had to wait until the last minute of the video to see that your handling in the corners was considerably superior to the R1s. Another 10? bhp and you would have gotten around them. Where is the track by the way?

The R1's were fast on the straight but appeared quite slow around curves sometimes being in the wrong gear also. You did well to catch them up, but you should have them around the corners.

wait so you can't set your sag?
@CubanRider7 жыл бұрын
That's a good question. I'm not sure, I never bothered to do it.
@airdoctor12517 жыл бұрын
If you are serious about track riding and in general cornering with your bike , it is best to set your sag for your weight + full gear (probably 10 + kgs for a full 1 piece suit ). This will allow the suspension to function at it's best and can handle the weight transfer during acceleration better( It can give you more clearance that way). But try the 2 up mode if it is hard to get to the rear suspension , front is easier to set up the preload. Even things like rebound and compression makes a huge difference when you are trail breaking into corners and better front suspension preload also. Bike should start feeling more nimble if you got these things right. ps: I'm glad to be having a friend who used to race professionally to help me with these things tho. So that is the limiting factor for most people..
@CubanRider7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Doc. I was just reading that people set their sag with the DDC suspension on the S1000RR, so maybe I can set mine. I never bothered to do it because most bikes come set-up for a 170 lbs rider, and that's what I weight. I've always found the XR's suspension to be really good from the factory, so I never messed with it. If I can make it work at the Dragon which is super tight, then consider me satisfied. ;-)
@airdoctor12517 жыл бұрын
Ah okay , I understand but remember full gear is 10+ kgs , small difference but I'm a nerd haha >.< . Keep the race track videos coming tho !

Haha, I'll try man. Moving to TX so I think the nearest track will be COTA. Looking forward to riding it!
