As someone who is only reading the physical copies, I wanted to give my own perspective on the book: *SPOILERS for (physical copy) BOOK 4* 1. To finally understand what people mean by the "coffin scene" and the "CPR kiss" is amazing 2. I love Shi Qingxuan and I hate that he had to go through all this. I was spoiled about He Xuan, but I had no clue that the "Black Water Arch" was as dark as people say, and I didn't know it included my pretty baby boy the Wind Master. 3. The art is really pretty. 4. Something you don't really notice until you see the cover in person is how pink it is. All of the whites are tinted pink, like Xie Lian's unluckiness made a single red sock turn the entire load of laundry pink. 5. Finally getting to see Xie Lian realize that he does like Hua Cheng is amazing. It's not said outright, but little moments where he gets jealous of "this person who San Lang hasn't won over yet" or knowing "someone else" has had his heart since he was little. It's so sweet. 6. Bring a pillow. You will either need to scream in joy or sob into it at one point or another in this book. Mainly the first one. 7. You finally get to see just how much Hua Cheng really looks up to Xie Lian. Even if Xie Lian doesn't know it, just the reader knowing that the one Hua CHeng is always talking about is Xie lian is amazing. 8. Wow. You really read an entire comment/rant about TGCF? I guess you really are a Kictor fan. (/j)

5:49 Just a guess, but on the bonus color illustration on the inside, I think Hua Cheng is grinding ink. I recently finished re-reading book 3 and I remember during the calligraphy lesson scene it mentioned that he would grind ink after writing for a bit because they needed more.

Wanna know what destroyed me in th e cover scene, besides Xie Lian realizing his feelings and feeling guilty for it? HC pulling XL into a crushing embrace when his frenzy started and desperately begging him to not leave him. Also the Black Water arc absolutely blindsided me with how good yet gruesome it was.

I was lucky to already have a couple of fabric text book covers and used one to cover up the book. I highly recommend them for this (for those that may need it) or even just covering regular books/text books; their very nice for keeping food and other residues off of your books 📚 I will warn you and say it does looks a bit suspicious to some but I use the excuse of "keeping the book protected." 😅 Also: I love it when you read scenes, you do such an amazing job. i think the small domestic drawing is the ink used for the calligraphy and the thing hua cheng is holding is the cover(so that the ink doest dry). or it could be some baos?the package at the side coud be some pastries? and if it was ink it could be a stack of paper? or did they use scrolls ? im not too sure but hope this helps☺
