What's cool about Kid Capri in this video is he's playing a bunch of old school original songs that other people use for cuts and breaks and samples. And even though old school DJs embrace the new technology it's still nice to see them go back to the original old school way of DJing skills using your ear maybe a stopwatch and the calculator old school DJs know what I mean by that.... clocking.

I’m a white guy from Detroit and I used to go with my wife to a lot of resale shops and I was always looking through any 45 records they might have. It was always a jackpot if I found any old funk records and triple jackpot if I found any with the little picture of ‘ you know who ‘ on the label. I have about 700 old 45 rpm records and my top two favorites of them all are James Brown - ‘ Get Up ( I Feel Like Being Like A Sex Machine ) and ‘ I Can’t Stand Myself When You Touch Me ‘ Number three is original version Soul Brothers Six - Some Kind Of Wonderful ‘

The computer just makes it easier to carry the library, it doesn't mix. You still have to have timing. It can normalize your sound so you don't have High and low volume. They also don't get sound degraded in the computer. Yes this does take skill, coordination and a good ear for music.

There we go, I knew there had to be somebody doing the real thing. 45s yet. No pre- recorded shit here, except maybe them pre- recorded 45s. I make tools and gadgets all the time. Back in about 1980 my brother was going to have a party with his rock band and I got the idea for something dumb to make, I made a small sandwich of plastic that you could put a 45 record in and it had a pickup on it that would play the record with half the record sticking out the end. You plug it into an amp and you could scratch the record back and forth with your hand or you could make it play a bit back and forth rolling it on the ground. I put my JamesBrown - Hot Pants 45 in it and took it to the party. They played around with it a bit but it might have been a cooler thing in more competent hands. I got my James Brown record back out of it and I think my brother still has the rest
