This song has such a deeper meaning than expected. it’s him fighting his battles and him ending. it was his pain , his battles taking over him. he made this to let us know. I’m so grateful for this.

For years, I've played this video as a solemn reminder that when it comes to my struggles with depression, you are your own worst enemy. Almost 3 months ago I lost my Wife to suicide. Didn't have a clue that she was depressed. It's a sad reminder, that during the ONE time in our marriage when she needed to be saved, I couldn't save her from herself.

reminds me of the hardest period of my life. selling my body, doing anything for drugs, smoking before school, during breaks, after school, before each meal, before bed, after waking up, before going somewhere. self harm, self deprecation. abusive relationships, peer pressure, a concoction of mental illness. different labels. different therapists. then came treatment. lots of tie dye shirts (if anyone else has been to rehab let me know if this is a collective thing), medication, trauma bonding, tears, breakdowns, not being able to eat because i could only eat when i was high and not so obsessive. i’m now almost 1 year sober, engaged, have moved out of my parents house, graduated two separate schools, and work full time. i’m grateful that i went to treatment. had i not, i would be dead. sorry for the random post, just remember laying in bed during treatment, listening to this song on my little ipod nano to help me sleep.

I think this video is a representation of the inner battles of Scott and how he turned into Mr. Rager. At the start, the innocent, drug-free Scott is breaking into an abandoned building: his mind. As he makes his way around, he sees his inner demons and problems and tries to fight his way through them and defeat them. All this happens while the drugged out/famous ( could be drugs, could be fame, we never know what's truly causing his mental conflict) version of Scott , "Mr. Rager" , observes from the top floor. Scott appears to be winning at the start, however the sheer number of problems and demons outweigh his power and his will to defeat them. After a long and unsuccessful battle, Mr. Rager kills Scott, bringing an end to Scott's struggle (Mr. Rager wins the battle and ends Scott's attempts to rid himself of this toxic part of his mind. The problems/inner demons that Scott was fighting against, however are still prevalent) . Mr. Rager takes over Scott Mescudi's psyche and mind, the innocent version of Scott is dead - murdered by the drug-fiending Mr. Rager, who is the new Scott Mescudi. ( At the very end Mr. Rager is seen at a mental therapy clinic and the therapist doing something called the counting method. A technique used for modulating and mastering traumatic memories in which the therapist counts out loud to 100 while the client silently remembers a traumatic event. Immediately afterwards, the recollection is reported, discussed and re framed; a common therapy technique used by psychologists.) Awesome Video !

This song has always represented the mental anguish of loneliness and that feeling of boundless rage we end up relying on, and how hard we struggle and struggle without accepting ourselves. The gang members being ones personal demons, the kudi we follow who feels like the heroic and brave one is actually the one unable to accept anything, the one who deals with everything through violence and rage. The final Kudi, the accepting one, he is the one that represents that part of us that understands where our trauma, our source of pain is, that which makes us lash out. And is the only one to ultimately put a stop to the Rage, through acceptance

I interpret this music video as Kid Cudi's head. At the start he's forced to think and when he does, his inner demons are there. When he tries to confront them they disperse and it's a never ending cycle of just fighting them non stop. When the girl shows up, I'm guessing it's kind of like hope for him in a way but the girl ends up blinding him. I'm guessing cudi must've been blinded by love at some point hence the reason he included that. When Kanye shows up and he misses his punch, I think that has to do with cudi being so upset with himself, that sometimes he'd lash out at other people, including his friends even tho he never means to. The ending is by far the deepest part for me though. Its cudi killing himself. I think cudi does this because he feels sorry for himself and realizes the only way to ever stop his demons is by ending his own life.

I love the way this is mixed, it’s slightly different from the audio, I love the part with no backing right in the beginning of each verse and the slight pause at the end of the verses has a louder sound that transitions into the chorus (on the actual song it’s a deep bass, on here can’t really recognize the instrument, maybe a synth?)gave me chills
@yousefhassan27663 жыл бұрын
It took me a while to interpret this song and the music video to it’s actual meaning. I define this video as Cudi’s mind. A traumatic experience that he’s been through before. Him breaking into this abandoned building is him first entering the music industry, dealing with the flaws and the corruption and what it’s really like to be in it. Him going up is his level of fame increasing, showing and revealing the dark side even more to him. When he’s on the level with the people he’s seeing it’s the pressure of many things, the drugs, the fame, the pressure. It’s his inner demons that he’s facing trying to fight everyday. The more and more people attacking him resembles the more difficulties he’s facing. When Kanye west shows up and he swings at him but misses this shows how he was blaming others and attacking the people he loved, without seeing the full truth. When the girl shows up he sees promise in love, thinking that it’s maybe his way out, that love can really help. When she puts the salt in his eyes, in blinds him, he can’t see and it hurts him, causing his “inner demons” to take over. He then meets himself, where he is stabbed and killed. to the point where he, himself is his biggest enemy, ending his life would make it easier, where he can’t save himself from himself. When he wakes up it shows how he’s recovering from what such a dark spot for him was, a traumatic experience that he once faced that took too deep of a toll on him where he needs his time and space to heal. Such a legendary video, such a legendary song.

this song has been with me through the most difficult times in my lfe. somehow, im feel like im slowly slipping again. this song along with do it alone (bigger than you), soundtrack 2 my life, and these worries- theyve all been on repeat in my head for the past few months. all i want to do is cry and just end it all. im trying really hard but waking up in the morning has become such a task. i truly ask myself why im alive and why the fuck im even here. there are times where i appreciate being alive but the majority of the time- i just want to disappear. the tears and immense sorrow just doesnt stop

This song attests to inner struggles we can all encounter. When in a depressive state it’s like you’re fighting with yourself to survive and come out of it. No one is immune to this. Take care of yourselves and reach out to someone for help.

I am 40 on February next year and my 17 year old daughter(18 on October) , are both loving this tune... kid cudi’s music doesn’t discriminate! Because he sings of his truth and mental health issues he really reaches everyone whether you are a youngster or an old soul as just like his music, mental health doesn’t discriminate either ✌️ I can’t get enough of this tune especially 🖤 ☮️💟🏴

Lord. I have been listening to this song since it came out, when I was 14. I even wrote an essay about this song in literature class in high school, about how much/what it meant to me at that time. It’s insane to see this only has 3.2 million views, compared to so much other senseless music with HUNDREDS of millions of views. Listening to this again, I resonate with it now more than ever. Thank you Mr. Cudi, for all of the good you’ve provided me through music over the years.

This is so much deeper than I thought, I had to listen to the lyrics then I started to understand this was all in his head. He was fighting a long battle and almost lost it if he wouldn't have woke up.

Wow it’s crazy how much symbolism is in his videos opening the locks to the building like the locks of his mind, fighting off all those demons inside his mind and the Kanye shot was sick. getting overtaken by them, still fighting to break away only to be killed by himself in the end reborn as one.

Cudi always connected to a part of me I was to naive to understand as a kid. I knew i was off, and had demons. They dragged me through dope holes, jail cells, had me on the streets. I didn't even know what I was lashing out against. I'm grateful for everything that's made me me, but I'm more glad still I could stick a knife in the heart of the kid fighting myself. His example of dealing with addiction, mental health, and society's expectaion of normal were one of the few things that gave me the dignity to keep trying. I've drank enough I thought I wouldn't wake up, been hanging from a neuce, and had guns to me head not even feeling anything. It's almost a cliche at this point, but this man saves lives.

The song Mr. Rager by Kid Cudi is about an adventurer who is looking for his own way. He expresses the longing for freedom and new experiences. He imagines how he fights his inner demons and finds his own heaven, a state of peace with himself. Mr. Rager is a persona of Kid Cudi who symbolizes the courageous, risk-taking part of us. The song invites the listeners to participate in his journey and hopes that they can also experience their own adventures
