@@danielwilson8604 You used Mega Laser to snipe people across the map and cut off exits. It was also super useful down corridors. It was excellent at zoning, kill stealing, catching escapes, and getting free damage overall. It's not as narrow as you think it is. Black Hole had a very small grab distance. It wasn't difficult to escape... especially if you had Lightweight or Tirelessness (both of which are also common). In addition, why waste an item when you can just shoot or melee them while they are trapped? You only have so many uses of each attack per life (and you didn't get them all back when you died). I'm saying not it didn't work. I'm saying that people rarely used them together (since there are so many things you could bring due to the item system).

Kid Icarus Uprising multiplayer revolved around fusing a weapon that had a negative effect on your weapon so you could get 6 full stars on both ranged and melee or some other method of one shotting a player like a Taurus Arm with petrification +4 has a 100% chance to kill a regular character. Nintendo at one point held tournaments of Uprising and after a few of them the Magnus Club was banned from these tournaments due to being considered broken. Clubs, Staves, Cannons, excel in multiplayer since there are multiple sniping points a map, neutral charge shots from clubs go through walls, and cannon fire bounces through walls so you can stay behind cover if your aim is good enough. All other weapons are used similar to how they are in single player. Aries armor, Libra Sponge, Reflect wall, and Pieces heal were run by most players. All healing skills had reduced effects. Claws with freezing effects were considered good since the 5 hit melee gave it a good chance to stun. It was common practice to kill yourself and force summon your angel a little early if there was an AI in the party or someone who was playing to recklessly either by letting the enemy kill you or use a jump skill off a cliff side. Ancient Fortress and Rail Temple were some of the more popular stages from my experience. Light v Dark was played far more than Free-For-All due to FFA promoting kill stealing. Most coordinated teams used one long range, one mid range, and one melee to balance their options. hell, the little multiplayer I did for achievements and gaining weapons + Powers. I knew I liked using the flintlock staff on dark team in the wasteland. (Team dark starts on elevated ground and just about any flintlock staff will do well there.) magnus club I knew killed things VERY easily, my god it felt unfair as a low skill player USING the weapon. I enjoyed Multiplayer exclusives like black hole because it restricted movement making easy pickings. Lightweight and the heavy-duty powers for mobility (getting back into the thick of it/ running like a coward) and to make killing me harder. reflect barrier was fun to use against foes that were shot dependent. and I did play mostly LvD because that way I didn't have to watch my back every 5 seconds.

A thing on that odd jumping pad that causes Pit to say: " get up, fall down, get up, fall down. Fight in the air, fight on the ground.[...] peaks and valleys, highs and lows, pick your friends not your nose."? Still one of the funniest lines from this game. Also just realized that the Chaos Kin's tail has a sickle shape to the end of it, fitting because that's what Kronos used to defeat Uranus and being that Gaia is his mother and gaia is also a daughter of Chaos it means that Kronos was indeed a kin of Chaos. I get the feeling the Chaos kin only have one eye is also a reference to the Cyclopses being one of the reasons Uranus was wanted for punishment. Nothing to confirm that, just a thought.

God becoming the angel with weapons you don't know how to use is the worst. I don't know about you but I mentally groan when ever I get a cannon or arm since I'm worst with them. And I play somewhat similar to you as I go head first into where ever someone is with the beam claws and just attack who ever's around, sometimes I'll start sniping at people but not often. I've also got this habit of running to wherever the opposing teams angel is when ever they appear.

I couldn't put this on Facebook or Twitter so I'll put it here. I found out a few misc bits of trivia about the game, so I wanted to reveal them to you. I hope you include them in the next bonus video! First off, there is an alternate piece of dialogue in Chapter 14: Lightning Battle during the flying stage from Pit. If you have died at any point during Chapters 1-13, Pit will say that he understands Hades giving Thantos another chance. If you haven't, he says it is unfair. Very remote as people have likely had a game over by that point. Second, the sunken city Poseidon mentions during the flying stage in Chapter 7: The Seafloor Palace is most likely a reference to the Lost City of Atlantis, as its location was said to be close to Greece which, as seen in the mythology of the game, is the country Pit often protects. These next three relate to music. One of the composers for Kid Icarus Uprising is a man called Masafumi Takada, also known as the mastermind behind the Danganronpa games, which I believe Tim has played on his channel, plus he did Chapter 5: The Labyrinth of Deceit. Makes sense. The other musical trivia is from Chapter 8: The Space-Pirate Ship. The official soundtrack includes a "Route B" which is doesn't seem to have actually in game. Beta content left over, or maybe something we don't know? Chapter 5 also includes the rewind segment after taking the incorrect route. This is just my theory, but the whole idea of space pirates is indeed a Metroid reference, as Samus defeats the Space Pirates on Zebes in one of the early games. Please include these and, if you like, you can credit me if you'd like. Have a great new year!

Space Pirates aren't the only reference to Metroid. The Kamatos (probably spelled that wrong) are clearly metroids, their name in Japanese literally means "son of metroid," nd in the Chaos dimension chapter there's even dialogue joking about that between Pit and Viridi. There's lots of references to other Nintendo series so I'd say it had to be intentional.

Claws were typically the strongest weapon back in the day, they had a psuedo-lock on when attacking near another player (would even chase people during their dodge) and with enough attack stats on the claws, you could easily oneshot anyone that isn't defensively inclined. Plus the speed makes it way easier to dodge and close the gap.

Given the right setup, almost any weapon can one-shot. I remember having a Bomber Arm that could one-shot with a MDA... as long as I was at full health, anyway. I eventually swapped it out for a Samurai Blade that can MDA or Melee Combo one-shot regardless of my health. Then of course, there's those that are good enough with a Staff to snipe you from across the map (sadly, I'm not one of those people). But yeah, Claws are my favorite weapon type to use for that reason.

Any weapon that slowly homes in on you is a nightmare. Eyetrack Orbitars especially.

Eyetracks were good against inexperienced players. But there are a lot of good ways to neutralize Eyetracks, like simply cancelling the shots since they are slow and have little stamina. Gemini Orbitars and Predator Cannon with +4 shot homing were a lot better, from my experience of getting owned by them many times, rofl.

DrChikin Fighting someone with a perfect predator canon sucks. Shots would be basically unavoidable thanks to their insane homing, and players would alternate between forward and backwards dash charged shots to alter the speed of their shots making them even more impossible to avoid! You’d think you’d be able to avoid the slow moving charged shot in the air but then suddenly you get sniped by a second lightning fast charged shot. -_-

Duuude. This is the content I've been waiting years for, rofl. Didn't know about the rare Medusa card, so thank you for including that! You're certainly right about the info out there on Together Mode. There was never really a big competitive scene, so a lot of the info out there isn't very good. Multiplayer was not balanced very well, so a lot of the time, people were just using broken/OP weapon/power combos and they'd hack the game to get the ideal modifiers for their weapons since fusing legitimately would take a long time. It's kind of hard to make a tier list for just the weapons alone because it really does depend on what modifiers you had, and what powers you were using... For example, +4 shot homing and +3 shot range were broken on weapons that already have good homing like Gemini Orbitars, Ninja Palm, and Angel Bow. And if those weapons are used with powers like Bumblebee, Homing Boost, and Slip Shot... oh boy. So yeah, multiplayer was kind of trash if you weren't using OP stuff. Light vs. Dark was fun, but if your teammates were just your average players and didn't understand how to counter broken weapon/power combos, you'd get destroyed every time. Anyway, I'm certainly no expert myself, but I've put in hundreds of hours into the game and can at least discern good info and bad info when it comes to multiplayer. Would be happy to help if you're looking for input from the community.

Ok, so I did a lot of Together Mode back in the day. Something I feel should be covered in a comprehensive video on Together Mode are the badges you get for what is essentially a kill tally. I can't remember how much I did, but I'm pretty sure I got over 1000 kills to get an orange badge (and I'm pretty sure I wasn't crazy enough to go for 10,000). I'd be willing to dust off my copy and see if I can get a screenshot of it for your next video, although I'm sure you can find images somewhere. I'd even be willing to be a volunteer/guinea pig and play you with voice chat over Discord. My specialty weapon was Pandora Claws, I preferred FFA over LvD, and I'm one of those left-handed plebs who did away with touch screen controls completely, and I still got gud. :P

As I understand it, the Magnus Club was widely considered to be the best club in the game. The opinion on the Ogre Club being so decentralized was because it's one of those weapons that was either great (because of extreme damage) or terrible (Its projectiles weren't nearly as good as the Magnus Club). Eyetrack Orbitars were also considered really good because of their ridiculous tracking even though their damage wasn't exactly stellar. Pandora Claws were considered really good as well because of their backward dash charged shot's utility (massive lingering hitbox with a lot of priority allowed it to be used as a shield). As far as spells, I don't know nearly as much other than Bumblebee being basically a must-pick in any build. Hope this helps!

Skyscraper Club Powers: -Super Armor L2 -Counter L3 -Black Hole L1 -Super Speed L4 -Jump Glide L1 -Effect Recovery L1 I far from need Bumblebee, and I have actually PUNISHED Bumblebee usage like mad with it too. Bumblebee is *FAR* from a must, and can even work against you because of forced trajectory by the auto-dodge.

Gonna echo OP's impressions, these were my experiences as well, for the most part. Eyetrack Orbitars and other similar high-homing weapons were absolutely brutal if you got within striking range. You either outrage them or overpower their shots or you're just kinda done if you couldn't. Beyond that, it was mostly just OHKO builds around melee (mainly claws and clubs) or dash charge shots. I remember seeing a lot of Sagittarius Bow like that. Not fun. And yes, Bumblebee was everywhere.
