This song just gave me a full on flashback to high school rocking out to this entire album by myself in the back of a bus on a band trip. It’s wild how songs can do that to you, remind you so strongly of a specific place and time. Thanks for reacting to this one Billy!

I knew about Kid Rock in Detroit in like ‘91, ‘92, then moved to Vegas in late ‘97. About a year later someone says “have you heard bawitdaba?” I said “what the hell’s that?” “It’s by some new guy named Kid Rock.” I was thrown for a loop. I never cared for rap and hadn’t paid attention to him for 6, 7 years. Then I saw a picture I still wasn’t sure because he had that eraser head hairdo back then. It was just weird to see him get huge after all that time. Barenaked Ladies too. We got Canadian stations so when people start talking about “this new band” it’s kinda weird.

By the time kid rock screamed his name I standing next to my son banging my head with him! I've stayed up the current music since. So this song will always have a special meaning to me.

Man, I was a big Kid Rock fan during junior high. Had like 3 of his CD's. Sadly they were the edited versions. Parents initially wouldn't let me get the CD featuring this song because the cover had him in a hat with braids, and he was smoking a cigar with neon lights in the background.. Then they finally liked him when he had that hit song "Picture" with Sheryl Crow.
@plain_simple_garak4 жыл бұрын
Something similar happened to me. I had the unedited version of this cd, which had him flipping the bird with both hands on the cd art lol. My very strict church lady mom found it and chewed me out. Then 2 or 3 years later, I caught her humming Picture lol

Kid Rock’s became one of those artists it’s now very “hipster cool” to hate on. Well, I couldn’t care less what some self professed music critics hv to say, I have always loved me some Kid Rock and that love hasn’t abated in the slightest. Hate on is what that obviously unhappy bunch can do. I’m sure Kid’s doing just fine regardless.

Fun Fact You Probably Didn't Know: Half The 'Kids' Playing In The Football Game Were Actually Midgets! In the old days, a regular amongst the Twisted Brown Trucker crew (Kid Rock's band/party crew) was a midget rapper by the name of Joe C. Joe would regularly get his diminutive friends to face off against local street kids just for the hell of it. The Twisted Brown Trucker later fell apart after Joe C's death, the first to leave being the group DJ, the now successful country singer Uncle Kracker.
