Poor Sumitra. Its possible Shiva unknowingly killed her. Two souls can't exist in one body. My bet is this, the husband used black magic to bring her back. He most likely went out looking for a host and chose Sumitra as a vessel to bring her back. The guy knew his way around a bit too much. End of the day, Sumitra lost her chance to raise her son. That's terrible Man.
