This case is weird because there’s a lot of mixed info online, some sources say Loeb was Bobby’s cousin while others say just say they were just acquaintances. Also, Nathan wasn’t the one that was killed in prison, it was Loeb. Nathan was allowed to clean off the blood from Loeb’s face after he passed and appeared to have never “recover” from his death (since there are sources that say they weren’t just friends but lovers). These two wanted to commit the perfect crime, and Nathan once said he wanted to see how it felt to kill someone hoping that it would be thrilling but he said he was disappointed when he realized he didn’t feel different.

@@catcountry0099 the info I mentioned are general information that appear in every version of events I’ve read. It is factual that those two were lovers or at least a huge infatuation from Nathan towards Loeb, Nathan wrote about it on his book after being released from prison. It is true Loeb died in prison and Nathan was by his side. It is true that they wanted to commit the perfect crime which is what Mrballen said in the video because of their belief that they were better than everyone else. It is also true that Nathan was disappointed that killing bobby didn’t make him feel any different because he wrote it in his book lmao

Also, it was mentioned that Bobby's father died 4 years later, but Richard's father died too. He died of a heart attack. I've seen sources that say it happened during the trial before a verdict was even reached and I've also read that he died right after the trial concluded. Either way, I imagine his son's circumstances had a lot to do with it, the stress of the charges his son was facing, along with all of the media attention the trial was receiving. And there are a lot more note-worthy details post-trial to dig into, I recommend independently researching the topic further if MrBallen's retelling piqued anyone's interest.

Oh, I've heard of this crime. These dudes just made SO MANY MISTAKES. Like, sure...they used fake names for some of it but they didn't wear any disguises when they went places, so there were tons of witnesses to recognize them; they used the type machine from Loeb's frat house, they used Leopold's car at some point...they didn't try to obscure their handwriting when singing stuff up...and ofc THE GLASSES. These glasses were literally so rare, and made by ORDER with modifications and all that. Which ALWAYS narrows down the potential customers. And in their chase of infamy and publicity they also chose a victim that cops would DEFINENTLY spent around the clock trying to bring justice to. But they were overly privileged pieces of shit with superiority complex, so ofc they didn't even consider any downsides to their plans. They just thought they were so clever that they didn't have to be careful bc no one would think to ask how their fake identities look like.

idk but as soon as they said bobby hangs around his older cousin i was side eyeing him. Idk why but i always hear about older cousins setting up their younger ones, male or female, it doesnt matter. Too many stories of younger cousins being put in bad situations.
