Kidde P3010L Smoke CO alarm review. It sucks!

I have one. The button wouldn't silence it. I tried to follow instructions to disable it and couldn't figure it out. I put it in the sink and downed it which seems to have worked after the initial death cries. Oh, and this was at 330am when i have work early....

I put mine in the tub and drowned it. After I saw your video I knew there was no way to open it. I had to take matters into my own hands.

Lasted two weeks before the alarm went off at 06:00 AM and wouldnt stop. Had to take a hammer to it and then cut the wires to the speaker. Luckliy I didnt throw out the First Alert that was there originally. Don't waste your money !

Cannot for the life of me get mine to open. Woke everyone in the house up at 4am for no reaason, and despite it saying that when you press the hush button it will shut up fro 3 days, it doesnt. I'm ready to just snip the wires and buy another unit. Whats ridicilous about it is that every other kidde model, apart from this one, seems to be built in a way that allows you to open it, but this one, you just cant. The only thing left to do is to destroy it.

I totally agree, This kidde product sucks. The hush button never works and the sensor sensitivity is absurd. DO NOT BUY

This was satisfying. My landlord installed these stupid alarms and they're always going off falsely, I can never get them to shut off and now one is doing the "replace battery beep" but I can't replace the battery and I'm sure as shit not replacing the unit. I move in 3 weeks the new tenant can deal with it.

Clean the alarm. (OUTDATED COMMENT) Just smash it as what it deserves. The Kidde Worry Free P3010 series is some of the crappiest and worst smoke alarms out there. Falses way too much and the hush button doesn't exist.

I have the same model and this week went crazy, in the middle of the night started beeping like crazy and for a minute I thought the house was on fire, try to change battery guess what, they are completely disposable, a lot of money for this defective product. Jajajaa nice way to stop the beeping. 😂 😃 😄 😁

If you live in a state that requires sealed 10 year smoke alarms. Disable it by turning that switch and remount it as a protest against a stupid law, code, or city Ordinance. Or just buy a cheap ass 9 volt battery ionization smoke alarm.

Just happened to me. Couldn't figure out the RIDICULOUS instructions to silence the thing. Are they KIDDEing? Grabbed a pair of scissors and cut all the wires. Problem solved. No smashing or drowning needed 😂.

@@GavinRieser Yeah, the P3010s are notorious for that. The silence button does not work, but normally I would remove the battery, but you cannot do it because it has a fixed battery. There should be a switch in the back that would (permanently) shut off the alarm, but doing so is permanent and can never be turned back on again. That is why I don't like sealed battery alarms.

@@GavinRieser this just happened to me today. Did the same. Tried to drown, short it out. Didn’t work. Eventually took a mallet to it. Took a couple of tries but I (hope) it finally shut it up. Never buying one again. Give me a regular removable battery.
