I have probably seen every steven Gerrard goal, but seeing you guys see our captain leader talisman and inspiration doing his magic made me smile even more. The beautiful thing about Gerrard was he could of gone anywhere in world football but he loves liverpool for many reasons but giving liverpool fans joy was his gift completely. Stevie G ynwa ❤

A midfielder is like a point guard. He controls the flow and direction of the game. His job is to open up opportunities and create holes in the defense, then feed the strikers to score. The most important position in my opinion.

The goal when he "just walked off" was the opening goal in an FA Cup match against Luton Town. Gerrard later explained that he knew the team wasn't playing well enough for that to be the winner so he didn't get excited by it. He was right - that game ended up 5 - 3 Liverpool with the final goal being scored by Xabi Alonso from inside his own half (their keeper went up field for a corner and couldn't get back in time to stop it; there's a great shot of Gerrard screaming at Xabi for taking the shot and immediately turning that into applause when it went in...)

Steven Gerrard was the definition of a dog, and he had so much power in his shot and his long passes were so beautiful, he was one of the first players i idolized when i was young with Ronaldinho, Henry, Zidane and then Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo
