U couldn't be and say that with a straight face. The fact is yes. They can read sheet music and recite it all day. But the feel ain't there. Something is always off. Saying it's the most inspired is kinda a slap in the face. I can pull up 3 perfect replicas on youtube and if I wasnt high all the time I could string my axe up and record myself doing a 4th. It's amazing to get it to all work together, but that's the point of this class.
@MauBast777
@MauBast777 2 жыл бұрын
@@tonyb7615 Strange, you talk about "perfect replicas" and question my "inspired" claim. So you obviously missed the fact that THIS cover is inspired BECAUSE it's not a "replica", it's an actual original cover, not just a bunch of musicians trying to make an exact copy of the song...... I've seen every Slayer cover on KZbin over the years, most bands with reasonable musicians can''t even simply copy the song properly, while these kids not only sound great, but actually added their OWN vibe to the song.... THAT has nothing to do with "being able to read sheet music", THAT is simply natural talent - talent many pro-musicians (who can ALSO read sheet music...) fall short on.... So yeah, I'm saying it with a straight face : this kid band performed in an inspired & authentic way !
@tonyb7615
@tonyb7615 2 жыл бұрын
@@MauBast777 fair. I have 2 avenues for covers. The strict. The thrash metal band havok does the best slayer cover. But for artistic panache, I kinda insist u jump genres. My fave cover like that is paint it black by black dahlia murder. If u make it unique, make it different enough so ppl won't think plagiarism

I recently purchased a poster for this song and also a poster for War Ensemble, that featured these kids at an estate sale. I spent 8 years, playing Kerry King, in a Slayer tribute band called Chemical Warfare and Slayer is one of my all time favorite bands, so when I saw the posters for sale I was intrigued. I honestly thought at first that they were for some B horror movies or something like that so it wasn't until I got them home and looked more closely at them, then realized what they were for. The guys did a great job on the song and I loved that they added their own stuff in to it. The solo was very cool and I liked the added harmony in places, although some original harmony was omitted. I will keep these posters with all my Slayer stuff for sure! Great Job!!

I'm a local musician and have seen the singer Kaden and rhythm guitar player John live multiple times. Both are the real deal. I'm surprised they didn't have John take a solo. He can play Pantera solos note for note, very impressive player.

Siiiiick siiiiick siiiiick nailed it!!!!!! those triples always got me and that riff at 1:08 pssssshhh never could get it, I'm a better drummer anyway but this drummer has it down.....carry on the torch, for you are no longer children, but young men in the prime of your lives. Thank you. Just have a bunch of babies and raise them on these classics and pass the torch on to them as well. Keep at it you guys slam

That's my best friend's kid on rhythm guitar! John Fowler is a prodigy. I remember seeing a homemade video of him at age 6 playing "Carry On Wayward Son" by Kansas. He played both keyboard and guitar. When he was done with one he switched to the other. He's truly a natural. And Kaden's vocals are astonishing. He sounds more manly than I do. And he probably sounds more manly than you, too. Rock on, boys!
