Thanks for watching, everyone! I decided to put this video together when it was announced that the Club Sega #2 arcade is being closed at the end of the month. All of these videos were published individually on this channel, but I thought it might be convenient to have them all in one big video. There are plenty more arcades scattered around Japan though, and I plan to cover as many of them as possible.

Nice, are you planing to do a farewell video of Club Sega before they close? It's bumming me out that they are closing.

That club Sega arcade is the one many of who have never been there associate with Akihabara, probably because of the visible escalators. It’s a shame I’ll never get to visit, but from watching your videos I got the impression it wasn’t all that unique or special.

Yeah, shame about the Building2 closing. I've been to Akiba a couple times but never went to this one because of the weird location right at the front of the main street. Hopefully that means Sega will be able to keep their other arcades running with the downsizing.

Wonder if Nintendo will take over building no.2 that would be sweet ☺

You beat me to it. I saw the announcement at John's ONLY IN JAPAN * GO page. I hope they're not closing ALL of the Sega arcades. Here in New York City, the Modern Pinball NYC arcade and museum at 362 3rd Avenue is closing. I've been going there for nearly 4 years, my last in mid-March. The virus is killing a lot of businesses here; but then again, they were on their way to being rent-priced out of their location well before the pandemic. No telling if they will open up elsewhere (probably not). ☹️

Wow, really enjoyed this video! I live in one of the largest cities in North America, and in 2020 there are literally only two or three arcades in town with games in a condition that make them worth playing, and their game selection is crap (best games are common retro cabs like TMNT, Tron, Galaxian... and I think one still has Smash TV). When I see these arcades in Tokyo it makes me feel, I don't know, wistful I guess. Thinking of a different time, a different place, a different reality where gamers in the nation I live in actually liked good videogames. We could have arcades like that today, but if we did no one would come to play the games... That HEY arcade in particular, boy I could lose some serious time in there on floors 2 & 3. I think if I lived in Tokyo I'd be heading over there all the time! Just the spread of games you swept past in the video would keep me almost 100% satisfied -- the only other arcade games I'd miss would be a few classics from the early 80's which were my first true loves in the arcade back in junior high: games like Xevious, Gorf, Astro Blaster. And 1987's Rastan, the arcade game that I played at least 1000 times in college, right around the corner from my dorm... not the greatest game, but I can still go through the entire game in my head, and I haven't played it in decades! Really enjoying your content -- of course the games you cover, but also the walks around the city. Any arcade tours elsewhere in Tokyo would be great, especially if they're not run-of-the-mill arcades but have either certain genres they specialize in, or a selection of older games. Cheers!

I hope Club Sega #2 isn’t a foreshadowing of what will become of HEY or Mikado in the very near future
