@@MadPanicGaming I’m kind of surprised how much I enjoyed it after playing some Cave shooters. Those are great too, but the screen gets a bit too busy. Probably feels that way because I just started playing shooters

@@JaredScott I tend to prefer the classics myself, favoring games like Gradius and R-Type over bullet hell shooters, even though I really like bullet hell too.

First Press Games has a physical copy of Crimzon Clover: World Explosion for sale which I have still on order, granted I've been waiting on the game for more than a year and a half. Psikyo Collection Vol.2 is the third most played game in the history of my beloved Switch. All 4 of the Shootemups in that collection are All-Time greats. Drainus is a great game and on the level of Natsuki Chronicles in my opinion, which doesn't yet have a Switch release. I'm going to make it a priority to add Never Awake to my collection. I cannot ignore it now. Jim you match many of my gaming tastes almost completely. I appreciate that. Keep up these amazing More Games videos.

I have all of them, I ordered also devil engine, dodonpachi daioujou and espgaluda 2 for the end of this year, I love the switch for the shmups and also the retro type of games specially with the metroidvania like hollow knight blasphemous the ori games etc...hi from france.

I pretty much only play retro games, but I am strongly considering buying a Switch because of your videos. Never Awake looks particularly good. I'm going to wait and see if Nintendo does any kind of bundle this holiday season and maybe try to snag one of the OLED models. 😎

I'm historically a retro gamer myself, but the Switch has really satisfied me in terms or old school arcade style games. Lots of shooters, beat em ups, retro collections, and modern games that pay homage to classic stuff.

Great video Jim! Never awake isn't talked about anywhere else really, so I'm glad that you are championing it. I can't recall if you've looked at Shottriggers' release of Zerofire yet, is it one you've picked up at all?

I am not a big fan of twin stick shooters but I imported Neverawake so I fired it and once I started playing I just couldn't stop. Yep I have to import trouble witches too... I had it on my wishlist long time now

​@Epiphanetic_ (probably late) but it seems to be on the japanese eshop. Dont know if it includes English. You'd just need to make a new profile on switch under a japanese eshop account, there's tutorials on yputube howbto do that. But also it's on playasia and that version is multi language so maybe the eshop version is too

most of these I still need to get around to, but I'm sure you've seen the glut of new games 2023 has given us like the new mario! (thanks to circumstances beyond my control I'm gonna have to post-pone that one until next month before I can dive in) so I still have to get around to picking up some of these, though I DID get the new Cotton sequel. seems a lot harder than the original (which I also do have, definitely one of my favorite shmups on switch, no contest) maybe I need to dust it off and give it another try.

You mean Cotton Reboot? That one can get tough, but damn is it fun, and the inclusion of the X68000 version of the original is an awesome bonus.

My personal favourite is Crimson Clover, absolutely amazing SHMUP. Also, does anyone have any theories as to why we can't access leaderboards on DoDonPachi Switch version? This is why I love SHMUPS, it's all about the high score chasing on the leaderboards, but the feature is greyed out... a bit dissapointing to be honest.

I haven't played the Switch version of Caladrius Blaze, and I'm not the biggest fan of Raiden 5, especially when 3 and 4 Mikado Remixes are now available.

Damn, no mention of Azure Reflections/Maihana Soumakyou - Uniting Bullet Barrage. 😢 That’s a real good shmup on Switch (and PS4 or PC).
