KIELDER FOREST HAMMOCK CAMP APRIL1st 2017

Managed to visit this exact spot last night on my own 17/11/07. Couldn't set up as it was blowing a gale!! So decided to set up my hammock just behind the big heed. Loved it!!! There were other people there besides me. Two camped in the head. I've left a pot of porridge in the nose ;-)

The lookout station on the hill is Deadwater Fell, you should camp up there, you can actually touch the stars from up there. Nice camp Andy, lovely spot like.

nice one... definitely thought Mark was going hit those wires... you seem to have captured some of the Northern Lights on the night sky time lapse... or did you just colour the clouds in green while editing? Pity Kielder is a reservoir and not the ocean, it robbed your moon in the water shot of a pun... lunar sea. There is a weather station on Deadwater fell but it is a bit below the large ball... the ball you can see is an air traffic control radar station and the MOD radio masts. My mind is full of useless information - lol.

lol... tbh, I only know because I was up there the other month. LMAO if it is the lights from Kielder village... that would be so funny, I would love it if it really was that. Alas I think you genuinely caught the aurora, which is cool, but not as funny as if it had been the lights from Kielder village (or better still the dark sky observatory).

Thats not a head! Thats a HEED!!! We've cycled past that heed and didn't know that camping was permited either, always a chuckle when you two are oot. That tache was to good to shave off, to many 'beardies' in wild camping, a good tache is where it's at! Oh aye he walks like a cockney, where did you get that one....both Diane and me howled at that one. Always a good craic...tfs...ATB R&D :)
