Switch to a different gear. That will drop the multiplier and spin the hubs faster so you’ll get past the torque limit

Hey Brian, congrats on your build!! You know what would be an awesome project? Swap the tranny for a ZF 8HP70/75 and convert it to AWD. People have been going crazy with these swaps, puting that 70 on everything, including e46s, e90/92s, and many other brands with the Lamik TCU. But no one has done an AWD conversion. On this F80 you won't need the controller, it's almost a direct swap with an adapter plate and a slight mod, but many have done it!

Finest f80 i ever seen. Wy do you dyno it in 4. Gear? If you dyno it in 5. Gear and put the diff ratio in the dyno at the corect number 3.46 the dyno will tolerate more power. Because the torque on the wheels will be less.

Don’t need a different dyno bro. Just need a higher gear. You have the DynaPack 3000 pods I assume ? If so, they have a software upgrade to 4500 nm. We’ve measured almost 1300 lbs.ft with it.

It maxed out at 3,320 lb-ft (4,500 Nm) at the hubs. The maximum capacity of this machine is 1547 WHP at 2450 hub RPM. So 1200-1400 WHP is not a problem with the correct gear ratio. And yes, he just needed to shift into a higher gear :|

Do a quick check if you can use a higher gear and keep the axle speeds within spec. That will drop the axles torque and you should hopefully be fine.

Hey there Brian, I'm going to be that one smart as guy ha, but for the sake of knowledge. Torque has a measurement unit of lbf-ft, as opposed to ft-lbf, for the reason that torque is measured in force at a given radius. As for where these dyno torque numbers occur within the drivetrain, typically torque measurements from a dyno are at the flywheel or output shaft, as opposed to the wheels (wheel size, gearing ratios, etc. are information input to get these dyno torque numbers). If torque were measured at the wheels, the value would be significantly higher because the radius of the entire wheel would contribute to the calculation and increase the output number. GM did this with the Hummer EV with their wild 11,500+ torque claim, which was quite confusing and initially unbelievable since torque values are rarely measured at the wheels. I do not mean to offend in anyway, just wanted to share a bit of engineering knowledge, which you probably knew all this already. Continue the great work, the project is truly fascinating and entertaining to watch. It looks like you guys hit the 1,000 crank-HP goal (assuming ~15% drivetrain loss) 😃

Port injection not needed. I can see you really don’t want to do it. I’m 700 on Mosselman turbos, M5 injectors, stock motor, stock fuel pump and stock cooling. I had PI but never installed it nor meth. 28psi. I was playing if safe 2 years ago lol I need to turn it up now. Oh and 98oct.
