How to Install a Pure Stage 2 Turbo | F30 BMW 335i xDrive N55 | Part 1

Hey Everyone,
Today, we're going to show you how t to do some basic prep for a Pure Stage 2 Turbo Installation on our 2013 BMW F30 335 xdrive, with the N55 motor. When you are draining your coolant, you need to remove the hose on the water pump to get all of it out. If not, you will get wet :)
Also, keep in mind that this video is geared for those who have a basic automotive knowledge. This is a complicated installation, so please be prepared before you begin.

I know I’m jumping the gun a bit but do you have any concern about the auto trans being able to handle all that new power?

I’m getting an issue on WOT acceleration where around 2700rpm-3500rpm when I step on it, the rpms jump up about a thousand immediately and then settle back down and then proceed to accelerate through the rev range normally. I took it to my shop but they said they couldn’t replicate it. It seems like it’s overboosting, and I don’t know even know where to start. At first I thought boost solenoid, then figured maybe something was wrong with the injectors not being able to supply enough fuel, then I thought vacuum line or coil packs.. now I’m wondering if maybe the diverter valve isn’t operating properly.. My mechanic said they thought the clutch might be going and causing slippage. What do you think could be the cause of this behavior. It’s a 2011 335xi 6 speed manual. with 70k on the engine.. no check engine light, no codes.. just the massive spike in Rpms before settling. Help please!

I have a 2015 M235i xdrive zf8 spd with the n55 and is currently bm3 stage 2. I want to go with a ps2 kit with the intent of making 470-500whp. My only concern is the engine holding up for the rest of the time i own it. The car has 70k on it now, and i plan on keeping it for another 2 years/~30k miles. Should i stear clear of adding more power or will i be alright?

the reinforcementplate. is that something specific for the xdrive? i dont have that on my f30 335 and its just a RWD. watching this reminds me of when i swap the DP on my car. what a hassle. went better the second time though. so for the next MOT i need to swap again. which should be a smooth task by now :D

Bryan, what's the diff in the Pure 800,...Pure Stage 1,...Pure Stage 2 turbo kits. I'm thinking about getting to that 500 Hp mark with my '16 F30 340. I know there are different power output levels from the 3 kits,...but wanted know if you had any insight on the technical differences. Note, I'm currently @ MHD Stage 2 / ERW Catted High-Flo Dp / and AWE Touring Muffler. Thanks in advance.

Awesome video Bryan. Is it mandatory to change the exhaust manifold gaskets and o-rings when reinstalling the same turbo? I am replacing and calibrating a new pneumatic wastegate actuator

Yes you need to. You can get that off without pulling the turbo. It’s tight but should be possible
