One of their best album openers (if not the best). "Reveal" is a masterpiece.

What is it about REM? I feel like they can bring out a feeling you didn't even know you had! One of the best bands of all time..no doubt! The level of passion in each song is hard to match!

I renovated a basement night club in 2001, a dance joint, top of the range sound system etc, I was bored one afternoon so I grabbed this CD from my car ,inserted it in the clubs sound system and pressed play. I was just hoping it would play and i could hear it. I nearly jumped out of my skin when it boomed out of those speakers as loud as it, wow, it was amazing, blew me away. So, i had to turn it up and I did, It just sounded so f... good i let the whole disc play as I went back to painting the ceiling. I thought to myself, If the owner turns up and i get sacked, so be it, it was lifting alright and that day still makes the hair on my back of neck stand out just to think about it. I took the Monster CD to work the next day, 'Whats the Frequency Kenneth' -my ears are still ringing...

Grounded 5 a.m. The nightlite is comforting. But gravity is holding you. Once settled into sleep You have watched on repeat, The story of your life Across the ceiling; And in review, You've said the air was singing It's calling you you don't believe These things you've never seen. "Good morning, how are you? The weather's fine, the sky is blue- It's perfect for our seminar..." "Now close your eyes, And start to breathe. Allow the noise to recede... ...Allow yourself to drift and fly away. But you just stay. You've said the air was singing It's calling you you don't believe These things you've never seen, never dreamed. Did you hear these voices calling Locked into a conference room, "We're only what our minds assume..." And rationale is leaving you. This conceit these systems of belief, Your counselor agrees, "You've always mark these boundaries now you're free..." And with relief. You've said the air was singing It's calling you you don't believe These things you've never seen, never heard, never dreamed. You said the air was singing It's calling you you don't believe These things you've never seen. Never [x19] Once you had a dream Of oceans, and sunken cities Memories of things you've never known

Really wish these guys would reconsider "disbanding". There's so little music these days that lives up to what they produced. Their last two albums were utterly fantastic.
