"40" years ago tonight I was cold, wet and waiting to see U2 for the very first time. I had no idea what a mind-blowing historical experience I was about to have. It would be the beginning of a long, beautiful musical relationship. Thanks boys!

We're you at Milton Keynes Summer saltist! If yes I was there too it rained for 9 hours solid I was soaked to the bone, but still one of the best gigs I've ever been too! Nothing better than Vintage U2! I was 17! 😅
@EQ2snorkle4 ай бұрын
Vintage U2 was by far the best U2, My first concert was 1987 at Leeds, Elland Road. They were at their peak. I couldn't name an album after Rattle and Hum.

OMG you were so fortunate to see this! I don't believe in going back in time, you live your life with what you make of it but if there is something I would go back for, it would be this concert!
@EQ2snorkle2 ай бұрын
@@MrGomjabber Was this to me? It was fantastic. I was 16! So good! A funny fact. We were in the ground around 2 hours before the first band came on, The Fall. We were sat on the pitch surrounded by stewards that were more like bouncers. Good guys though and I got talking to one. He told me you will hear a loud bang and all of us will move away and it's fre for all to the front. I'ds guess we were on the half way line! Anyway I was young fast and fit and was the first to the front! I actually ran for my entire county lol so no contest! Imagine health and safety now?!

I saw U2 for first time a week before this show in Portland, Oregon. It literally changed my life and became a musician. Whatever “that” was they were doing, I wanted to as well. Fast forward to today and seen them 36 times live in the states and 12 shows across Europe. The highlight 2009 in Dublin on 360 tour. Amazing band and amazing adventure being a total fan.
