浅井空手: 基本・同じ足を使った前蹴りの連蹴り,下段蹴込み&上段蹴上げ:インド・ボンベイ講習会
In Asai karate, we use double kick using the same leg in various kicking methods.
The first kick is Gedan level Mae geri kekomi. This technique is not practiced often in the Kihon training in most of the dojo, as far as I know.
The second kick is Jodan level Mae geri keage.
There are at least two key points in this technique.
#1: The heel of the supporting foot must stay on the floor when they kick.
#2: The supporting foot (and the knee) must point to the same direction of the kicking foot (12 o'clock). It pivots only when the kicking foot lands on the floor.
There are many applications of this technique.
One of them is as follow:
First kick, Gedan mae geri kekomi 下段前蹴り蹴込み is to the opponent's advancing leg to stop his advance or to deflect his attention to Gedan.
The second kick, Jodan mae geri keage 上段前蹴り蹴上げ is the counter to kick the opponent chin.
I am sure you can think of other applications. First, try and see if you can do this double Mae geri quickly and smoothly. Then, use it in your Kumite practice.
