There are so many times you can just see him trying to hold back a smile or laugh even in this video, when he's just staring into the camera. Mostly in the last half. You can definitely tell that he's just doing the Geoff thing: seeing a possible joke and going along with it for as long as he can. That being said, I really do think he has earned his sabbatical. It's like being a full-time dad at home and at work, except at work, they're fully grown adults. So I can definitely see that wearing anyone down over however-many-years since AH really started to take off. He deserves every day of that sabbatical, and more.

The dude isn't 'depressed' - he's just tired. He's 41 years old, he's starting to feel his age and his life has been nothing but making AH and Let's Play videos 24/7 for the last 4 years straight. Why do you think Ray left? It's not easy to maintain that enthusiasm for such a long stint. Not to mention, as you get older, you start to become less and less interested in playing computer games. Trust me, Geoff is just fine - he's just moving on to greener pastures. That's how life works: at some stage, you _have_ to move on. Nothing beautiful lasts forever.

They're in the middle of making a show. The ones closest to him are no doubt having serious conversations with him in private, they already know he's not okay, that's why he's taking a sabbatical, getting therapy etc. It's why he hates that he has shows he still has to make, cuz he has to act at least somewhat together to not depress the shit out of everyone. There's a difference between bored/tired and depressed. Honestly Sad Geoff 1 is the only one where he's really sad, Sad Geoff 2 he's just bored at home, and Sad Geoff 3 and 4 he's tired (both physically and mentally). The editing I do makes it look like he's sad, plus he does play it up on camera, but I doubt he's seriously depressed.

Just so you all know, I've had a few people in my life try to kill themselves. This is played up for the cameras; even if he was actually depressed, it wouldn't be nearly as obvious to the usual AH viewer.
