He's taking whats called a sabbatical, which is essentially an extended paid vacation. University professors often take them and use the time to do some research or write a book. Geoff's is going to last anywhere from a few weeks to a year, depending on when he feels like coming back(though he will still do H&H and Relationship Goals).

So if im right here is what is happening. Geoff is going loopy from working in a digital environment for 15 years and is taking a 2 - 12 month break depending on recovery. He gets paid while on break and will come back to work later. He will most likely end up coming back when the summer is over after millie is going back to school
