Funny video Longshot! I have never tried the Python air to air missile, but it seems a little too crazy for me - I dont like things to do a 180 and come back my way...also the kill at the end where you were perfectly lined up to land was funny!

Most fighter and bomber aircraft have switches that cut out the firing circuits on guns and bombs/missiles. This is because of accidents on the ground while arming up planes and also after landing, during taxiing, what have you. Most are probably gear up, guns active, but some might be "squat" switches such as those used for the thrust reversers and landing wing spoilers on commercial jets. So, yeah, a plane with its landing gear down shouldn't be able to fire guns, rockets or missiles nor drop bombs. (Whether or not that's actually true in DCS World is another question.)

To a degree, I've seen it happen by accident and then I've also seen scenarios where you have to engage missiles, defending a fleet for example.
