Decent video and I mostly agree with it, just a few issues. If you want the best results you should apply Imidacloprid beginning June 1st (no earlier) through Mid July (no later), not in May although it will still work if applied in May. Basically I'm just saying you're a little early. Imidacloprid is very effective but it mainly kills young grubs born after the June bugs mate and lay eggs. If you apply it too early it may not still be fully active when grub season is raging in the fall. As for grub killer, it really should only be used in September or October when the grubs are actively causing problems or in spring if a large number of grubs are found before May in the turfgrass and need to be cured before the mating season. Realistically grub killers don't work well to control grubs long term / do not interrupt the life cycle well, ultimately prevention is better than actively killing a modest fraction of the grubs with the killers. FYI, I actually prefer Bioadvanced complete insect control because it kills most bugs with cyfluthrin and controls grubs and other sub surface insects with imidacloprid but I agree that pure imidacloprid is the best route as you stated when considering cost long term. I will note that Bioadvanced season long grub control no longer has imidacloprid in it and Michigan state found that it's active ingredient: lamda cyhalothrin is not effective in controlling grubs alone so grubex might be the better route for DIY-ers and should go down in April. Lastly grubs aren't harmful to turf unless you peel back a square foot of turf and see more than 5-7 of them. One or two is ok, the grass can typically handle that unless it's poorly managed turf.
