Regardless of what ppl say, it was a good story, intricate n nicely woven. I love nice happy endings but one can’t get that all the time, that’s so Hollywood. Ppl who expect that does not see the reality in life, denial much? The actors brought all their style into the characters n it was beautiful!!! Love it even though ending was sooo sad. One of the dramas that became really good because of the powerful acting, regardless of the sad ending ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

The male Leader and the female leader have super acting and great chemistry. I personally think the their acting is better than what’s in the Double, particularly the male leader Liu Xueyi. Too bad towards the end it turns out to be a sad story. Maybe that is just life. I think the screenwriter is trying to tell us not everything is perfect. Still, I think this one is better than the Double.

The male lead in the beginning was never an intimidating and seductive but he was torturous hence villainous and coz of this he was irritating and infuriating. Later ,he became soft hearted, caring , loving , cooperative and supportive which made him the lovable person ever in the eyes of audience. Only women with no sense of respect will love the character which is abusing but the kindness, sensitivity , respect with understanding is the love which was beautifully portrayed in this series. He was crazy in love devotedly, wholeheartedly, with respect and understanding towards her thinking, taking and accepting her as an individual,as a person and as a woman which is the pulse and beauty of this series.

the drama was brilliant the chemistry fantastic and the acting was amazing..But the director ruined the drama after the main bad guy was killed off way too soon before the ending .the ML bodyguard was killed off and there was too many unnecessary deaths of some great characters and then that ending …but cannot fault the acting and chemistry by the main leads that’s for sure ..

That was one of the gorgeous shows that I've ever seen! Why did the writers ruin it?? I have watched many Chinese movies and dramas, and I can count on one hand the number of happy endings, Pearl Eclipse is one. The main actors who played Mei Lin and Murong Jinghe were brilliant! Also the supporting cast, like the Prince of Xiyan and Princess of Xiyan.

this drama is great until the down of crown prince, after that you can watch other drama. Murong jinghe is the coolest man, so intimidating, and the first episode boom they kissed and making out

Even I was more interested in Zigu and the King than Zigu's brother... I actually wanted Zigu to finally become a mother and the family to have a happy thing happening.. that kid could have been raised by our ML and become the next King after the ML

Great acting from the main CP, but the writers screwed up the plot. This is the best acting I seen from Liu Xue Yi. After the crown prince died, everything went down hill from there in my opinion.

Writers want to be too clever writing a messy endings and they often ruin drama with idiotism. You can mess up middle, but the end is the most important for people, it's unforgivable. Every book I am reading I check the end🤣. We can only say Oh, no they did it again😢, you must have a good stomach to digest the ending of Chinese dramas. I never get used to it. Anyway because of the pace and great leading couple it could be one of my favourite dramas this year, like this 8 club still worth watching. Princess story was ok for me, because dealing all life with feelings how unimportant you are, just a tool to get something, and then you meet someone powerful, intelligent and good who think that you and your needs are more important from anything. He can look as he likes I'm ok with it 😂😂😂. I am watching at the moment Fangs 🖤🤍💜, and Love game 💖🧡💛, both favourite this year. Thank you!!!

Well, the fizz does not last very long, unfortunately.After about a third into the drama it flattens out, and then is ye olde love story....h o w e v e r, he does lay the foundation for his own misery, and the dumb writers give the end away with the concubine's pregnancy. Very Chinese, everyone is really easily replaced....Male Lead mesmerizing, but kicked in the b by sloppy writing. So this, too, descends into predictability by episode 10 or 11...

Great start, but tension out by episode 5, when it became same old same old love story-revenge drama. Duh. Villain mass murderer, with a love story??? Predictable for most episodes, but the ML was truly great, and also the villain…..And the emperor‘s new wife! Endearing. Great opportunity missed to maintain the mystery. MacGuffin to kill off the people you invest in is too much. I quit as soon as I heard about the end.

Yue Qin character was badly written. He ruined the FL and just went away like that? Instead of killing Qing Yan, the writers should have killed him. The 2nd arch, Xiyan Kingdom, was poorly written. I could barely watch the 2nd ML and FL. Xiyan arch was too long and too much!

yes yue qin got too much screen time and it was the most boring arc they should have saved the run time to write the ending properly

I thought it started very well BUT once the emperor was rescued the plot lost its way and became ridiculous. It was hard to watch to the end and did not live up to expectation AT ALL. It was such a shame that the plot(s) got so stupid and the flow was misjudged A LOT.
