I’m listening for the second or third time! I love Paco’s interview. The stories are top notch!!!

What a great pair of interviews. Col. Geisler clearly carried some of that Phys Ed pre-military-career background with him... he sounds and talks like an old (American foot)ball coach. Of course he was getting guys ready for a much more important game than the next weekend's gridiron meeting. Thanks for giving us these long form interviews that let the personality and style of these historical figures come through and get recorded for posterity.

Paco as a Sq CC reminded me of when we had Green Bay Packer coach Mike Holmgren in the DC-10 cockpit flying his team to the Super Bowl around '97. He had the same leadership qualities as Paco exemplified in this video. Great interview Steve!

Wow! Love the way Paco revealed his Constant Peg activities to his kids.... Amazing!

Yeah. Suggests that he's a bit of a deep thinker and not just some muscle head who flew fighters.

This mans (paco) interviews are the best I have ever seen. His mannerisms, overall knowledge and way-of-being incredibly entertaining as well as inspiring. I would do just about anything to have been born in the right place and time to be in this mans squadron.

I've watched these interviews with Paco multiple times, get him back on, he is a great guest. If I could ask him a question, it would be about the F-22 and his thoughts on it, the limited numbers of them and the USAF buying more F-15EX's to fill the gap left by shutting down production of the Raptors.

I can't describe the sheer disappointment (in lack of better word) when Paco didn't keep a copy of those post card. Such mentality of old die-hard fighter pilot. We need him back for more, he can talk about his breakfast and still make a good story out of it. What a legend.
@10percenttrue2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, he was probably too busy looking up how to spell Kiss My Ass in Cyrillic to think about keeping a copy :)

I‘m depply impressed. Having spent over 20 years as a pilot in the German Air Force, I would have given my right arm to have a squadron commander like Paco…

I love listening to this guy!! Paco is truly a legend in every sense of the word and I could listen to him tell his tale for hours and hours on end. No complaints here for the long talks!
@TorToroPorco2 жыл бұрын
Legend is probably an overused word but in this instance it’s rather appropriate. His mindset shaped and moulded the best pilot community the USAF had to offer.

Through all of the entertaining stories and colourful language, I get more than a glimpse of the pensive capacity of this man. He has given so much and perhaps mostly to those wives, ( and children). They all came back. A very rewarding watch Steve. Thanks to you both.

I agree totally, Ian. There is definitely pensiveness there, despite the jocular delivery.

Thanks for doing these interviews! Having Paco fighting for the good guys and getting everyone up to speed is why they all made it back. He must be getting on a bit, but I wouldn’t get in a ring with him.

He’s insanely strong, which is another thing people comment about. He’s in the process of trying to set a world record for benchpress for his age group - I think he said he benched 360lb a few weeks ago, missing the WR by only 1.5lb or so (can’t remember exact figures, but those sound about right).

Super interesting! I was an enlisted guy, Bitburg AB for a large part of my time, early 90s. Also one of those kids who dreamed of flying the 15. (But nearsighted and colorblind was a wet blanket on that plan). Its good to live vicariously through interviews like these. Thanks!

@@10percenttrue Admin stuff with Logistics Plans. Definately nothing exciting. I just made the most of being an a great location and any opportunities that came my way.
