Hey Doc! Thank you so much for all of your content! It’s been extremely helpful! I just recently bought my first home and with that I got my first lawn haha. I’m very new to lawn care and wish I would have found your videos sooner. I’ve already found out that I’ve let you down 😬. I have a hybrid Bermuda and I am cutting it way too high. I’ve been cutting it in the 4-5 inch range. It has a nice green color but it has a lot of dead grass underneath. Is it too late to cut it shorter? If not, how would you go about it? I’m not too far from you in South Carolina. I’m going to follow your calendar and instructions to a t from now on and can’t wait to have a lawn like yours!
@HowTowithDoc6 жыл бұрын
Take down LITTLE by little or wait for a heavy rain period. Just before the heavy rain, go ahead and cut fairly low. Bermuda roots are deep so you'll be ok.

Doc, would you recommend mixing this product with a broad spectrum weed killer in the same pump sprayer or keep it separate? I'm not if it's safe either to mix the two.
@HowTowithDoc5 жыл бұрын
If both weeds are widespread then yes you can mix. If not just spot treat.
@eldenjr5 жыл бұрын
@@HowTowithDoc there more widespread than I'd want. I think most is Poa Annua and that stuff that gets a purple bloom. Identifying each it's my strongest gift! Either way way if it ain't brown now, I dont want it, right? Thanks.

I'm so glad I happened upon your channel! Since finding you, my lawn has really turned the corner. My neighbors are starting to comment and I owe you a great deal of thanks! I am not sure how much you read the comments, but if I can request a video, one thing I am looking to do is level out my lawn after a really bed sod job. We moved into the house a few years back and I have some areas where the soil level is below the concrete sidewalk and others where it is flush. I want to get my lawn as level as I can to avoid scalping high spots. My biggest question is when to do it. I went out and got sand and lawn soil and read that a 70% sand to 30% soil mixture is better than just sand, but beyond that I am at a loss. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
@HowTowithDoc6 жыл бұрын
Best time to FULLY level a lawn is in the early spring. For true leveling it will need to be scalped. There are companies that do this, it's quite a process and I'm sure not cheap. But the top dressing needs to be applied to VERY short grass then dragged to level.
@MrMcGribble6 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I've been meaning to pop back on to check for replies. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I will check around and see how much it would cost to have someone else do it, but truly I am likely to do it myself unless I come into some kind of win-fall. Thanks again! Also, thanks for your military service!

We have a really bad infestation all over our lawn, does the image kill the Bermuda grass along with the nutsedge?
@Vicious_Virgo6 жыл бұрын
Also, have you tried or heard anything good about ‘ortho nutsedge killer’- and would it kill the grass? It’s such a bad infestation, it’s literally covering our entire front yard -the gardener did a treatment that yellowed/killed our entire lawn and we couldn’t water for 5-6 days. The Bermuda grass came back green in a few weeks but so did the nutsedge, way way way worse than before, which is where we’re at now.
@HowTowithDoc6 жыл бұрын
Follow the instructions and wait until the weather is in the 80's no 90's and lawn is not stressed. Get the liquid and be prepared to do 2-3 treatments about 2 weeks apart. It has to get down into the ground to REALLY work fyi and often takes multiple treatments. It's like killing potatoes....
@Vicious_Virgo6 жыл бұрын
How To with Doc Thank you for the reply! I couldn’t find a solid answer online about which treatments kill the lawn, so I appreciate your tips! I did a bunch more research and ended up getting sedgehammer bc I couldn’t find ortho or image in town and pulling them by hand was not working! I spoke to some helpful folks who said it won’t ever go away permanently and the only thing you can really do is help control it with treatments (but that it will always come back to some degree). Is that true?! I didn’t realize its that hard to get rid of completely! I have time to do a few treatments before it goes dormant in the cooler weather - but I guess I’ll just continue next spring and hope it gets better :/
