Honestly, attacking Tara should cause the same reaction as hurting Scratch or the owlbear cub: full party aggro. Nobody hurts our beloved pets >:(

I mean, Tara was killing pigeons that were delivering messages to people across the Sword Coast, including messages that could have potentially meant the difference between life or death. It makes sense for Gale to be angry about it, since he's her friend, but there is a valid reason to attack Tara if she doesn't leave the pigeons alone.

Astarion, Laezel and Minthara legit wouldn't give a shit. Shadowheart as well depending on the path you've taken her. The only ones that would be in character in turning against you are Gale and Halsin

Wait, was the whole party supposed to aggro me? Because in my experience when I (accidentally) killed Scratch in camp, it was only Aylin who aggroed, while the rest sided with me, so it was just this 9v1 with Aylin getting demolished while her gf Isobel for some reason just standing on the sidelines doing nothing. My party couldn’t give 2 shits about the dog lmao.

Yeah this should straight up cause some sort of massive persuasion check to keep Gale in the party still or hell I'd say it would reasonable there was none and he just mouths you off and leaves for good due to what you've done.

I think the reason there is no further Dialoge is because no one thought that anyone could be that mean... no one hurts the kittycat!

A shame that Gale doesn't get mad and starts arguing with you when you kill Tara. You'd think that's the least he would do, not just get a little sad and then just move on like it never happened. Doing this should cause an instant break up if you're romancing him and require a high persuasion roll to keep him around.

I disagree in that it should be impossible to stop him from attacking you. It’s just as Wyll if you slaughter the grove - completely against his character to forgive you

Gale chose not to let a dead cat ruin his whole life. If he dies in combat with us then there are dire consequences.

@@lordhuckbut Tara isn't even just a pet cat (something most cat owners would be willing to go to great lengths for). Tara is as intelligent as a human, she was his familiar since he was a child and for the longest time she was his only friend (or like a second mother, depending on how you see it). She also kept him alive for an entire year while he was locked away. It makes absolutely zero sense that he would stay with your party after killing her. Maybe some insane persuasion check, but otherwise he'd leave for sure

I found this cat by accident and had no Gale in my party. So faced scenario two and this endless discussion the this animal, so annoying. So I reloaded and killed her. Later I realised that it was Gale's pet. It's not really a loss for the game in the end, since you could just meet her in the last few minutes of the game again. Why is the only cat which is not annoying, the one near basilisk gate, which you can't understand? The devs could have made them at least a little bit likeable.
