Good review. The terrain actually looks pretty fun to play on. Too bad its already sold out, so hopefully it doesn't take long to be back in stock. Although I am contemplating scratch building these board and lifting the printed platforms of the mat as well.

Salutations and Happy Holidays! Thank you for the review. I am actually quite suprised how quickly the terrain sold out. Was it FOMO-who knows? Personally I agree with GW separating the terrain from the units as the terrain(in this instance) was an easy pass for me. When you mentioned Necromunda terrain that is what came to my mind. I purchased a set of sprees of terrain from Ash Wastes which for me just looks thematically better. Surely GW can do a better job of repurposing their existing terrain lines.

Thanks for watching! I think it's cause people do like the terrain and it's compatible with other GW terrain. Ash Waste terrain is great but doesn't gel well with KT imo

Might be wishful thinking, but does the sizing of the new terrain match up with the gantries from Star Wars Shatterpoint? Might be able to test out the new rules early haha

It's tough cause in KT the only teams with 3+ are power armour clad units (SM, Legionnaires etc) so whilst their aspect armour is better than normal aspect armour, it's still not Power Armour, feels like they should be a 3.5+ but they've got to differentiate I suppose!

Nah Scorpions and Warp Spiders are the only foot aspects with +3 armour save due to their bulkier aspect armour. Even in the narrative they explain how it offers the same protection as power armour but without the movement penalties

The easiest kill zone to scratch built since challnath. And for people who buys the terrain having no more duplicates bundled with the teams is also great. (Tho the copies of into the dark terrain are actually useful for a big 40k boarding action if you are into it.)

Eh it's not that easy and adds up to more of a cost if using GW pieces. Also no one plays boarding actions in 40k in 10th

I have a question. I have been seeing a lot of people doing the free dash for the scout kill team. They will be dash up on the terrain. I feel it is wrong, but I would like to have some clarification on it. Thank you

How does the platform with just one pillar hold when having miniatures in its borders? Great in depth video as always, but honestrly i'm quite disappointed with the lackluster terrain and beeing fed with straight wh40k units with no kill team flavour (miniature-wise). For the warrior aspects, needing 3 boxes to assemble a competitive killteam is a new low as well.

Platform with single pillar is fine. Only gets wobbly if you put a super heavy miniature on the edge of it

Looking forward to playing the new kill zone! The teams not so much, but that’s just my personal preference. I think a launch box with the two teams and terrain would of been cool, with every release after split like it is now. All in all I’m happy that they have split 👍

I've skipped the new kill teams, but i pre-ordered the terrain. My only concern now is how complete the promised download is going to be. If it includes just the actual terrain rules, and omits the mission and campaign rules i will not be a happy gamer.

As an Eldar fan I think youre maybe a little biased about the balancing. Currently They have the highest 40k winrate and considered over tuned.

@@CanYouRollaCrit Referring to alternate stat lines for units and saying theyre downgraded in the kill team from "historic" stat lines makes it sound like youre comparing them to the base game.

​@baconation2637 Comparisons between 40k and Killteam are valid, especially where Ballistic/Weapon Skill AND Armour Saves are concerned. Almost all models in Killteam have the same equivalent stats in 40k. (Eg: space marines having a BS/WS and Sv of 3+ in both games) Obviously, they're different games and are balanced differently, but clearly what he's saying is that specific Eldar units have been made worse, in comparison to their position in other games AND in lore.

Glad to hear that the terrain is not as bland as it appeared to be on first sight. I'd like to point out that for a beginning player, starting with Kill Team in season 3 is considerably more expensive than season 1 or 2 because in addition to the two boxes, you also need the starter set to get the basic rules, markers and gauges.

So, I get a naked Terrain box and the rules and missions for it in the box with the teams I don’t want? Hopefully the free PDFs get all Terrain rules plus missions for it. Otherwise these releases are BS.

I guess its just me but man does this terrain look boring. The old sector mechanicus sets came with lots of extra stuff to make it at least a little interesting, and you could get broken ones from some sets too. My big questions is it just going to sell out and disappear anyway. But I don't think I'm biting on their FOMO lure this time.

I get that, I think they kept it more intact as its a functioning place not a rundown one The terrain is for the year so hopefully it's not gonna be one and done 😅

Is it just me or are the KT terrains getting really silly and simple? Boarding actions and Gallowdark were really nice IMO. Not sure how you'd improve on those though. Maybe with some more parts of a ship, like engine room and such? I don't play the game, but really would love to get BA and GD to paint, they're so nice. Just almost impossible to get here, outside of eBay and 200€.

If you already have teams, you can just buy the terrain box. But the box with the new teams is the box with the new narrative mission pack. But, I think GW said they’ll be releasing some of it separately as a PDF online.

if we go by past experience, the competitive missions won't even use the narrative terrain they included.
