Great video! How many zip lock bags of meals did you bring? Any tips on trail food?

I filmed all the bag meals so whatever is in the video, about 1 per day? Tips for food - dehydrate your own meals its cheaper, lighter, tastes better, healthier. Bring high cal lightweight snacks like coconut, dark chocolate, almonds. And dont skimp on protein, add in jerky, bars, shakes, whatever you can. Try healthy carbs like dried fruit and definitely a few junky snacks for morale.

Great video and I have hiked the trail a few times but thinking of doing it in May of 2023 with my dog since I have done it in the middle of summer with him and it's hot ! My main concern is the bugs for my dog. I can cover myself and they don't bother me too much, but even spraying him can be uncomfortable for him and wonder if you think there is a best time of year to do it? Would April or June be possibly better? What are you thoughts?

Thanks! I think mid May or late September would be the best time to go for bugs/weather. It won't be too cold and there will be next to no bugs.
