What kind of move would you suggest for a defender that is far longer than I am and a step quicker, who sits back and just waits to pick the ball and reaches. alot. Can't seem to get the ball far enough outside my frame on crossovers for him to not pick it. Any suggestions?
@CoachFrikki
@CoachFrikki 4 жыл бұрын
No magic pill against defenders who are both stronger and quicker than you. I definitely wouldn't be crossing the ball over because that's the easiest move to steal. Your best option is to get very close to him and use some kind of hesitation. Get as low as possible and use your offhand. But why don't you shoot it if he's sagging off you?
@TheScottw11
@TheScottw11 4 жыл бұрын
@@CoachFrikki it's funny you suggest that, because that's all I've been able to do is crowd him, get into a drop and rip down his hand with my off arm and do a blow by. The problem with shooting over him is he'll play off me until I'm inside NBA 3 pt range. I'm comfortable shooting out there but he's still so long he contests anyway.

Use a screen or initiate contact on the drive to destabilize him (Kyrie Irving, and Kemba Walker are excellent at this, CJ McCollum too) before popping out for a shot or shot fake into a drive.

i mean it’s trial and error bro.. my strong suit has always been my playmaking and my passing.. also studying players like nash and cp3 help a lot.. it’s about learning all the different types of passes and situations where you would have an open teammate.. more IQ rather than physical work tbh
