I completely agree regarding the 'gateway' thing. I bought a cheap Les Paul copy when I started playing, but, as soon as I had enough money for the real thing, I went out and got one. Just because you purchase the more affordable option today, doesn't mean you won't spring for the 'real' one as soon as you can. If anything, I'd argue that it makes you more likely to want the more boutique version. Also, as someone else commented the other day, there are roughly five original circuits (slight exaggeration, but you know what I mean), and pretty much everything is inspired by, or a 'clone' of something that came before. Even if I buy this pedal and love it, I'm not taking my name off of the KOT waiting list...

Hi Guy yet another awesome video. From the disclaimer take it you guys have had some grief 🤷🏻‍♂️ For me I really like this pedal for a few reasons 1) great tone (2) using the boost with the gain means this works on low output single pick ups. (3) it’s almost seems some kind of clean tone mixed in with the gain that means you can clearly pick out every note rather then everything blurring into white noise.

You know why companies don't like it when a clone gets produced? Because it proves to the world that the same pedal can be made and sold much, much cheaper. Besides, thinking someone who bought a 30-40 dollar clone is actually looking to buy a 300-500$ handmade pedal with a waiting list a yearlong is just stupid. When I see a clone on someone's board you know what I think of- the original pedal and how good it must be that it was cloned. It doesn't make me want the clone- it makes me want the original pedal. Anyone who can, who has the money- buys the real deal, the ppl who don't are ppl you would've never sold a pedal to anyway.

How does this compare to the Caline Andes?

The Overdrive on the Sundance Special is their Pure Sky OD (Timmy) , on the Andes it's their Orange Burst OD (Xotic BB Preamp) - they are kinda similar pedals...one of the main differences is the Voice switch on the Andes which allows you to switch the order of the effect - as in Boost into Overdrive or Overdrive into Boost. I think we might actually do a comparison video with the two soon...sounds like fun!!

Sorry to be correcting you, but I believe that it's the other way round, where the overdrive on the Sundance is the Orange Burst, whilst on the Andes, the overdrive is the Blue Sky. Thanks to your reviews, I got both the blue sky and the Andes (which I got just a few days ago). They are both awesome and incredible value for money. The Andes has blown me away, truly. What a package! Would be great if you lovely folks did a comparison of the Sundance and the Andes, particularly from a tone perspective.
