This made me tear up, I don't tear up often but I am a father of 2 wonderful children and this was extremely difficult to watch. There will be nothing that takes away the mothers pain, time does not heal all wounds. If there is a God and a heaven, those kids are there, I hope the mother can at least find some peace in that.

Reminds me of Andrea Yates. Too many children overloading a mind that's not buttoned down properly (although without the post-partum depression). We choose not to understand mental illness in this country, we're wrapped up in some sort of good/evil dichotomy, and the combination of mental illness and religion can be fatal. When the family can't give kids what they need, social services needs to do a better job. All too often they're so underfunded that they can't and something bad happens -- at which point society then decides to care about the kids, when it's too late to make a difference. These kids deserved better.

I'm all for people who have real mental health issues getting help before and after committing a crime. But when he says "The voices start going off and then here comes the paranoia" tells me he was in complete control of himself. He was aware of experiencing "paranoia" he said so. Not that I believe him at all. If he's aware of what he's experiencing he's aware enough to know it's a false experience. He wasnt in any way experiencing anything but sheer anger and wanting to cause as much pain as he could to the mother of the children.

She couldn't afford lawyer, so she agreed to joint custody with Tim having physical custody of the five children.

He kept his wife in poverty living in a run down trailer. She didn't even have a GED, a car to drive or driver's license, access to cash, and was forced to live under his religious ideas. When they divorced he got custody of the kids with her having visitation. This lady got her GED, got a job, and her driver's license and a car. She was doing everything she could to get her children back. He killed them before she could. He was also using spice during the time that made him hard to deal with. It was just a nightmare in the making.

The wife didnt have the means to look after them after they divorced. Tim was working but the babysitters testified they were only provided oats to feed the kids day in day out. The odd times they went to KFC they had to share a bucket of nuggets and a serve of chips. You can see in one photo one of the babies has one chicken nugget and a few chips thrown in front of him She had no car and no job and she had been playing around with young neighbour before they divorced so I guess that was used against her. She had agreed to him having custody. Oh and he was driving around in an $80,000 car.
