I’ve never seen the post bent over and tied off. Very clever. Certainly a pattern I will be adding to my flybox. Many thanks.

I have seen this pattern done on another site and find it an interesting one. I like your choice of dubbing material and colours. My favourite pattern is a Klinkhamer but will try this "brush" idea for a better float. What caught my eye was your name "springerspanielful". I have enjoyed two Springers in my years of hunting. Excellent hunters, good family pets and loyal dogs! Great video.

George beautiful fly what hook hook did you use for that fly. Has that lovely upwards to the eye of the hook.
@springerspanielful2 жыл бұрын
A hook I cant identify or even remember where I got.All I can tell you it's a light up eyed curved hook.

So to match the hatch u first need to check the color of the hatch then tie ur flies? Or just show up with a bunch of d iffrent colors when on the river?

You'll get to know the local flylife with experience,however olives and hares ear bodies with any color hackle will suffice most times.

Great pattern and good instruction. I know you said a standard hook can be used but I really like that up eye hook, who makes it and is it still available? Thanks.
@springerspanielful6 жыл бұрын
unfortunately I lost the makers name.

springerspanielful No problem, I just like the classy look of the up eye hook. I can get some old Mustad dry fly but only in size 18. Daiichi makes an upeye 2xl nymph that's reasonable price wise but still doesn't cut the mustard for what I want. But thank you very much for the reply.

What is the purpose of the first material you tied in?
@springerspanielful2 жыл бұрын
It binds and secures the hackle in place..

That is awesome, thanks very much, man - can't wait to see them and more importantly to use them on the dwindling stocks of fish in my local river. We're blighted by cormorants and goosanders here and it really bugs me that they are protected as if I had more shooting land near rivers I'd be culling them with a vengeance.

Great looking dry fly that, name speaks for itself. I fly fish in New Zealand and would be interesting to try that out in our waters. I have just subscribed too
