I'm a little late to the admiration of this technique. Very impressive approach to parachute ties. I'm a fan.

Nuts... I don't know how you can do this so smoothly in this size... you must be a master!!

Remarkable ! One of my favourite and most used flies. I have never tied it in that size of a hook. Maybe it's time. You are doing a perfect job with your videos guys! Keep it up and thank you for sharing!

I love tying this pattern! Only difference for me is that I whip finish around the post and then add a tiny bit of glue/cement to lock things in. Great videos, keep up the fantastic work.

I get materials from a number of sources but most of it comes from Shannon's Fly and Tackle in Califon, NJ. They have recently launched an online store.

I keep a lot of those in my fly box, besides white for the post, I used Orange, Red and Yellow- I also will tie then in yellow, light and dark olive and black, The black on has saved the day for me on some very picky trout when the little black caddis are about, I have a dedicated box just for Adam's in the 18 to 24 sizes.

Amazing video, hit Vally Creek in Vally Forge National Park today. I was micro nymphing a awesome little juju baetis, cought 11 fish in an hour. Your Charlie Craven reference made me think of it. It would be nice to see you tie the pattern.

This was a great beginners kit for a great price. kzbin.infoUgkxKRURvLsu9Vvyw7gIuvt8FsApoQNCdz-1 Its given us a huge variety to test out and see what works well and what we like to use. Majority of the flies have stayed together well, but some of the rainbow warriors did unravel after catching a few blue gill. All in all, this was a great kit and are so happy with the purchase and value for money.

It can be so deceiving when you watch these videos. They look so big and easy to work with until you actually try tying them. I usually just pull out my credit card. HaHa

Nice. A.K. said not to bother with mixing the tail. I always have, but on this size... I also don't like the white post. I might break it up a little with a marker, the same can be done with a grizzly rather than using two hackles.

Awesome vid! Two questions: #1, what kind of Camera did you use to film this? #2, Can a pink bit of yarn be used instead of white for a bit more visability?

What whip finisher are you using that has that cutting thing on the bottom?
@hugohamalainen22408 жыл бұрын
The whip finisher that he uses has a little metal piece at the other end that he ground to a sharp edge

I have a problem with my parachute Adams. it never seems to stay up right, 9 out of 10 times it will land on its side and stay there, is this because I'm using a hook that is too light?
@tightlinevideo9 жыл бұрын
Oliver Kraft It could be. More likely that the post is too tall or too heavy. First thing would be to use less material on the post, you really don't need much.

You have great videos but one thing, you might want to include "Fly tying" in your title, its no where to be found. I just stumbled upon this video but if someone was searching for fly tying videos it probably would not have shown up.

How can you see that on the water
@5xClay10 жыл бұрын
That white post makes it much easier than you'd think to see it. When I use small dries I almost always use parachutes because it's the only way I can see them haha.
@SkidinDingo8 жыл бұрын
when i fish tiny flies, i watch for where they land, then try to follow the general spot (a circle 6 inches in diameter where i think the fly is) and if i see a swirl or anything in that circle i set the hook 80% of the time i hook a fish, 15% of the time i get nothing and just re cast, then 5% of the time i bugger something up and have to start the cast all over again/fix it
@tightlinevideo12 жыл бұрын
#1 That's a bit of a secret. Sorry. #2 Sure, whatever is most visible in the light/water conditions you are fishing.

Hmmm.... if you're using size 22 hackle, to me that means you should be tying that parachute pattern on a size 24 hook.
@corybeckmann88235 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. In sizes that small, it would make a very minimalistic difference, and probably make something that's extremely difficult more difficult than it already is.
