KM's fatalism on Cop City speaks volumes. He's just not against it enough. (Note that he punted when Kalonji asked him directly.) It's demoralizing and demobilizing, and I feel like that's his intent. (How much are they paying him for THIS tour?) His thoughts on Cornel West's campaign are similar. He says that he likes West a lot, but he openly implies that he can't win. Thus he encourages folks to not take West's campaign seriously. That's not being pragmatic, it's just run-of-the-mill accomodationist politics.

Now there should be no more confusion on where this dude stands and how we should move accordingly in regards to him and his politics! Also shout out to the chat because they were not feeling the BS cuddly Mike was spewing AT ALL! Lol! 🙌🏾🔥😂

I wish Dhoruba was on the show at the same time. I can only imagine how he would’ve responded to Mike suggesting civilian review boards as a check on militarized police. Fighting battles we already won with strategies already dismissed as insufficient decades ago. Mike is financially tied to the key players in this $100m project. He won’t risk it.

Kalonji conducted the interview masterfully tbh, asked the necessary questions & allowed KM to expose himself. Even the respectful pushback was perfect because KM couldn’t even handle that! lol Those not so subliminals at EYL tho

KM is an accommodationist and a pacifist. He's clearly not willing to risk being out of alignment with the capitalists. He talked about pushing hard for Warknock. Well how about encouraging him to speak out about CopCity. It's not necessarily about the "win," but having the courage to take the righteous and moral stand.

"cultural maturity and wisdom" love the way you phrased it. Soooo much intolerance and rigidity. We are not all going to align on many things, let alone everything, nor is it necessary. If you have some level of commitment to forward progress and uplift-ment of black people that's a plus in this day and age because few do. I can rock with everyone under that banner. Yvette Carnell says"collective uplift" and I'm there all day for that -- even though I don't align with her on other points. My only hard no is for theJessie Lees, the Candaces and their ilk and the universe of sellout preachers, political class, media schills and hard core criminals bent of our collective destruction.

Mike says it's pretty much a done deal on stopping the 'PigPen' (Cop City). Sounds as if he is trying to be safe in his views on the Gestapo-land being built. And maybe it's me, but Mike seem to, before he says something he knows folks aren't going to like or look at him sideways, he qualify is remarks with a 'what y'all doing' exclaim. I find something rather disingenuous about that, to say the least....

Great episode, Kalonji is one of the best interviewers working today. We know where he stands, but he allows his guests to answer his straightforward and hard-hitting questions in a way that shows what the guest really thinks. For some guests, this laying bare makes them look good, for others, they are skillfully guided into showing what is behind the mask. The patience and intellect that Kalonji shows in his ability to lead his verbal dance partner exactly where he knows his audience needs to see them go is very impressive. It would have been very interesting to have seen West here, I think the interaction between these three would be very eye opening for what's left of the good doctor's supporters.

Right! Let’s try to keep the same energy for the people we like and have personal relationships. You don’t necessarily have to drag people… but a little pushback would be nice. Killer Mike find himself in many of the rooms where these conversations take place and is probably quite used to being one of the smartest in the room and the one folks defer to regarding these topics. If there’s not going to be any pushback on what he’s saying, what is the point to give him yet another platform to talk nonsense without anyone challenging him?
