I find it funny how they kinda bicker back and forth they have at 11:35 and onwards
At 1:30:43 Efren realizes Scott has nothing for him and Efren remains next to the table, kinda hawking over Scott, but also knowing Scott has only one shot and it’s not going to do much for him. Scott sees the shot he’s going to take, but then pretends like he’s eyeing other options and waits for Efren to sit down; only to then end up taking the shot Efren knew he was going to take. Overall just a silently awkward interaction. Scott did a lot of silently prideful things. Laughed and smiled at some of Efrens misses too. Weird guy. Not a bad dude. But just kinda insecure.

For all of you who never saw Irving Crane play traight Pool, just watch Frost play, and multiply by three. (From lookng the shot over 3-4 times, too look into it over twice, but taking three times as much time...all this BS is done to shark thrie opponents.

To me one pocket is the pool equivalent to chess
@ammoalamo6485 Жыл бұрын
I've been a decent but failed chess player as well as a crummy, failed 1-p player, and I know the most basic similarity between the two games: you have to study the endless but standard moves before you can get good at the game. Chess players review old games played by masters, while pool players spend hour after hour in the pool hall to learn the shots, moves, and strategies. A straight stroke and good eye is necessary, but knowledge of the game is what wins matches. The only way to get that knowledge is to go to pool school, meaning paying game after game after game against tough opponents. In the old days, which to me is from 1965-80, if you got lucky some old road player might take a young hotshot under his wing and share his valuable knowledge learned from hard experience. The advent of the Internet killed the anonymity of road players, but it began the free exchange of pool knowledge. Today we see the some of the best pool in history, thanks to mentoring and sharing of pool knowledge, sometimes for free, sometimes as paid lessons. A big shout-out to Dr. Dave and other pioneers of free sharing of pool knowledge over the net. Most of them eventually turned to paid schooling, and why not- the tools and time to make video instruction are a regular job, a skilled trade, maybe even a professorship.

It's Scott Frost, the guy is full of himself, and he is arrogant. He thinks he invented 1 pocket, and if you do not play it the way he would you are not doing it right.

@jeffhaman9010 Жыл бұрын
We don't need analysis, or predictions on EVERY. SINGLE. SHOT. or even inning. If one of the commentators is saying something interesting, no need to interrupt him to give us what you think could or should be done. Try taking a page out of Eli and Peyton Manning's Monday night commentary. Less is more.
@jtherrington77 Жыл бұрын
I disagree. I have learned so much about strategy from listening to these guys share their point of view on every shot.
