Listening to his real final confession made me so angry, and so sad for Heather. It feels like he still had complicated feelings for her which, combined with Emilia's jealousy, drove them do this. I'm just amazed that they thought they'd get away with this! Killers in cases like this are blind to the reality that if you just take a couple steps back and look at the situation, NOONE ELSE would do it! It's basically obvious. The first round of interviews would reveal the custody issue and love triangle, the jealousy. I'm left with so much empathy and sympathy for the families, and especially the children. The audacity of him to weep and wail about his kids becoming wards of the state; HE DID THAT! What did you think was going to happen when you murdered their mom?!?! Just awful. I find it immensely satisfying that neither of them will ever walk free. Very disappointed to hear that later, that brilliant interrogator lost control of his own behavior and became a criminal himself. I wonder what went through HIS mind while he strangled his lover, and whether or not he's still an abusive jerk. Did he learn anything?

It's a vicious cycle to get out of, so I too tell people not to ignore those red flags, no matter how little they seem ... and don't let them gaslight you into thinking they aren't real! Don't you understand that you don't get to see the full recordings here? Do you think they solved this entire case in 45 minutes? Also that detective, ive seen him on a couple of other cases and he was fierce as hell, but unfortunately he is a total scum bag too and is no longer a detective or even on the force after he was charged with MULTIPLE charges of DV, false imprisonment and strangulation, so whilst he might have been good at his job he wasn't good at being a decent husband or human being and in my personal opinion is no better than the people he helped put away. Josh's mum threatened HEather to drop the charges. That mom is something. Kids involved, relationships involved, the act of murder is just way too easy to think on and execute. Josh was just not having it over the kids, or rather he wanted to use the kids to control Heather. It is, or was, all over when he pointed the gun at her, regardless. 11 days after the wedding?? IS that a shotgun wedding?? Emilia is twisted. She encouraged Josh to be rid of Heather, even if it meant murder. The jury must have felt the same, putting her to death and he to life. Such selfish ends, just deplorable. And Emilia is worried about the kids, then don't get involved in the crime.
