This might sound weird and crazy but for years of my life I never paid any real attention to my weight, health, etc. but one day I came across a video like this (not this exact one, just a cell defending against something) and it absolutely changed the way I live. I realized that if these tiny things are constantly fighting to keep me alive and healthy, I need to do it as well.

For those of you wondering what the two red dots are, those are microtubule organizing centers. These allow the cytotoxic T cell to direct cytotoxic granules towards the cancer cell. These granules contain the components that kill the cancer cell.

In 1996 my brother gave me T Cells to fight the Leukaemia cells in my body that were not killed when he gave me a Bone Marrow Transplant in 1991. That was a (deliberate) T Cell depleted-sibling donor transplant. I stayed stable for 5 years then the T Cell Infusion went in for the ultimate battle. Within six weeks! I was declared clear of Leukaemic cells. I thank him, the medical Team at the Royal Liverpool Hospital in Liverpool and now the Clatterbridge Hospital in Liverpool who now see me annually. Not forgetting the Great Mathematician, Engineer and Architect of all things, watching us while up above. February 2024 is 33 years since my transplant and 28 years I was declared clear of Leukaemic Cells. I owe my life to T Cells acting just like the one in the video above. More power to the understanding and development of T Cell technology by Physicians and Scientists around the World.

It's been two years this month since my mom passed due to a rare aggressive cancer. I hope research has progressed on how to mimic T cells and we can truly destroy cancer in everyone. I don't want anyone to have to watch their loved one die from the inside out.

@@anamika9924 I will be real with you, yes, it was, and there were many days I absolutely didn’t want to go on, but I can tell you 2 years in remission now, you can survive, but the treatment plan is best discussed with a compassionate doctor because every cancer is different. But the most helpful thing you can have around? Laughter. Make jokes, have fun, and don’t let the word cancer become a taboo, don’t let it take that power in your life. Always address it head on, because the more you talk about it, the less scary it all is.
