Beautiful boards! I wouldn't use them outside/utilitarian purpose. Anyway - i dont know how often i have heard from my kids - "i dont know"... and kids are never every messing up something - they are so natural and pure. And yes - kids like to play around with bandsaws - i can confirm that. :-).

White oak, great wood, valuable too, especially when cared for. Your log ends would have benefited if they had been treated with anchor seal (reduces checking).

I have a log cutting question for you. At 6:20, and again several times, when you finished cutting a section of the tree the end part jumped up, as it it had been under strain. Why would that be? I would have thought the tree would not be under tension. I think in your previous videos I've never seen a tree do this. Just curious. Love your videos and envy both you and your son. What a perfect life you are giving him!

Yeah, it's called tension. I've had it happen before. Honestly not totally sure what causes it. I have read that trees that grew on banks are prone to it.

I have been watching your posts long enough to see your son growing like a weed - keep him close and teach him as he will be grown and gone before you know it - I have a daughter who grew up before I knew it and I'm so proud of her today. I don't. It would be better if I did, but I so rarely cut hardwoods I just use the 10 degree "softwood" blades.
