I know a lot of people thinks this is opera, but it’s not. Yes, he has classical training and does use some in his performances, but it’s not opera. He mixes a bunch of different genres in his performances, not just operatic techniques. He demonstrated Jazz, R & B and pop in this as well. That is what is so incredibly unique about him. Dimash has a way of captivating his audience, regardless of their genre preference. Thank you for reacting to this and I hope you will continue. If you haven’t watched “Olimpico”, you really should. Please choose the version on Igor Krutoy’s KZbin channel, it’s an epic performance.

This is why I love listening to this dude. Each time he sings I don’t know what to expect, even if it’s the same song because he’ll throw a twist into it. There are songs like S.O.S. , sinful passion and Ikanaide/Autumn Strong that I don’t care how many times I hear them because he will change it up. Thank you for your reaction! 😊

That is what he does. He draws you in and you are just caught. He is mesmerizing as a performer. As others have mentioned, Autumn Strong which has different lyrics but same melody. I would suggest the live version from Kiev. It is stunning. Also, Know from New Wave, or Daididau in his native Kazakh from Bastau. In Daididau you see him play the Dombra and he is very emotional at the end.

Dimash sang Ikanaide (live and for the first time in Japanese) on the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. Because of the pandemic, the annual Tokyo Jazz Festival took place online again. Filmmakers verify that the videos have not been edited and manipulated, so the singer sings live. In 2020 Dimash also participated in the famous annual Tokyo Online Festival with 2 songs: * S.O.S. - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZWuinelprB_hpo * Samaltau - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXbcfayBjJKajbs The original Japanese version Ikanaide/ Please Don’t Go (composed 1989) is by Koji Tamaki, *1958, Japanese songwriter. The sad true story... very touching: It is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi (*1920-2014), a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan and became famous in China. However, when the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy. She was deported to Japan and longed for China. Ms. Yamaguchi did not return to China until many years as deputy environment minister in the Japanese parliament. The song is a metaphor as the lyrics speak of how a person should hide what they are feeling. Koji Tamaki sent a wonderful message to Dimash, thanking him, and praising him for singing his song in Japanese. Vbloggers, they reacted to the original by Koji Tamaki, they are mesmerized and can't stop listening to him. He wrote many wonderful melodies - you should check it out: Koji Tamaki 2021, Ikanaide - kzbin.info/www/bejne/haHKn4BogsiWebM In 1993, Jacky Cheung (*1961, singer and actor in Hongkong) adapted the song into Chinese Mandarin, calling it Late Autumn: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqWwY3ipnK13aa8 The Chinese (Autuumn Strong) and Japanese (Ikanaide/ Please, Don’t Go) versions have completely different lyrics and meanings… and of course Dimash sings both very differently. Both are based on a same true story. The Chinese version shows the image of leaves dancing in the autumn wind as a metaphor for how fate affected Yoshiko Yamaguchi's life. ...sad but inevitable and irrevocably The Japanese version does not want to accept the loss, is full of pain, pleads, suffers ... heartbreaking. I'm totally mesmerized by how sensitively Dimash differentiates and conveys to the listener the feelings of sadness and loneliness in the Chinese version and loss and pain in the Japanese version. Even his whispers and his breath are music... it breaks my heart and the tears flow... and at the end everyone suddenly holds their breath, we hear Dimash breathing, then a deep and comforting hum. I've never heard anything like it from a singer in my entire life. Only Dimash can do that. This is true mastery. * The most famous interpretation In China (first performance at the Singer 2017) was that of Dimash Qudaibergen and it was his first time to sing in Chinese mandarin: Autuumn Strong - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZ7MY5aMns-Xg9E This song brought Dimash the 'Best Foreign Singer' award at the Golden Melody Award 2017 (equivalent to the Grammy) in Hong Kong. * Great performance (Chinese version) of Dimash from Kiev 11.03.2020, the last concert before Corona paralyzed everything: Autumn Strong - kzbin.info/www/bejne/amSaenipea6NnKc * Other version of Dimash: In Moscow on March, 2019 - Autumn Strong - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5bag2t4pMhlZ6s

I think Tammy Knoll said it best: The seven stages of "Dimashifying". Stage 1) Shock..."What did I just hear? Stage 2) Denial..."This can't be REAL? Stage 3) Bargaining..."OK, it's real but he's an "Angel/Alien/Freak" Stage 4) Guilt..."You guys were right, I should have listened to him long ago..." Stage 5) Anger..."You guys were right, I should have listened to him long ago..." Stage 6) Depression..."If he's a freak, what does that make me???" Stage 7)Acceptance..."I'm a DEAR" just say it... The DEARS are over 10 million active fans in clubs in 160 countries. His fanbase, is acclaimed worldwide by artists, producers and venues as being tightly knit, cohesive, unfailingly polite and friendly, loyal and wonderful audiences. They combine forces for charities, travel together, socialize together, and are loyal to each other. They are the envy of other artists who have commented about the "Famous Dears" of Dimash. You're our newest, welcome, join us in our appreciation of this once in a generation artist. :)

Dimash not only sings with his voice but with his whole body … so emotional and intimate. Kōji Tamaki is a Japanese singer-songwriter of Ikanaide and Dimash performed a previous version in Chinese called Autumn strong kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIm0ZmuLYqqXmsk this song is based in a true story about Yoshiko Yamaguchi who was born in China, hid her japanese heritage under a chinese name, became very loved. After WWII, her heritage was exposed, she was arrested, accused of being a japanese spy, and sentenced to death. She was ultimately cleared of charges, but was advised to leave the country, as she risked being lynched. Dimash is a master of the story-telling, his voice makes you feel deep emotions and takes you there where that song happened. Beautiful!! A Japanese reactor mentioned that his softness with the hard consonants is a function of how well Dimash understands and has learned the mechanics (tongue and jaw placement) of the Japanese language. It's something very difficult for native English speakers to do. ❤️🎤🔝🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Keep in mind Dimash doesn't speak Japanese either. He sings in foreign languages phonetically, not always getting the accents perfectly, but in this instance Japanese speakers have said he did extremely well. He just invests himself in the intent of the song, which a lot of singers don't manage to do when they sing in English. I love when Dimash sings in Italian - Olimpico, Ti Amo Cosi, Passione. He probably knows Italian more because of his training in opera. His latest short video is singing Brahms lullaby in Italian. Bellissimo!

Dimash is amazing! Thanks for reacting to him! This song is very beautiful and has a sad story: the song IKANAIDE also known as "Autumn Strong" or Autumn Deep or Late Autumn, was composed by Japanese composer Koji Tamaki, it is about Youshiko Yamaguchi, an actress born to Japanese parents who settled in Fushun, Manchuria, Republic of China at the time of the war, she hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li Xiang Lan, the Chinese public adored her, not knowing the truth, after the war, her true identity was exposed. When it was revealed that she was of Japanese descent, she was tried for treason and narrowly escaped execution by the Chinese in post-war China and was despised by the public who had previously loved her. Yoshiko was deported to Japan and never returned to China. She died of heart failure in Tokyo on September 7, 2014, aged 94. I highly recommend the performance in the show The Singer when Dimash sings in mandarin: Dimash - "Late Autumn" with the performance and the true sad story behind the song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIm0ZmuLYqqXmsk I also recommend: Dimash - "Adagio": kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2WUfJSclpZnqNE Dimash - Across Endless Dimensions (live): kzbin.info/www/bejne/eF6khJt6qpx_bKM Dimash - "Daybreak" - Dimash loses his voice but can still sing, watch the performance and the real sad story behind the song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4mqd2qsnKqMgc0 Dimash Kudaibergen - Daybreak, Bastau 2017 ~ Dimash Kudaibergen - Dawn, Start 2017: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJy9hX2ggdR3bJY Dimash - "Confessa/ Diva dance": kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZKrXmiJoa-Lq8U Dimash - "Show Must Go on": kzbin.info/www/bejne/q52WnKN7ZtaWpdk Dimash - "Love is Like a Dream": kzbin.info/www/bejne/rn2ogq2cprSSopI Dimash - "Mademoiselle Hyde": kzbin.info/www/bejne/qom1Ynp5qLGHidk Dimash - "Opera 2": kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5-unohnf5Wfb8k Dimash Kudaibergen - " An Unforgettable Day" at the Gakku: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2aViXefoctpaJo Dimash - Give Me Your Love 2021: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZnUh2Z6opV7hqM Dimash - Qairan Elim (live): kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4Gypal9epqojbc Dimash Kudaibergen & Igor Krutoy - Your Love (Premiere): kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJeslKh7r8lpptU Dimash Kudaibergen - Passione ~ New Wave 2019 [New Song]: kzbin.info/www/bejne/boLXepKcpbl8rsU Dimash - Be With Me (Official Music Video): kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2G2oKGif8t8i68 Dimash - Be With Me | 2021 (live): kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYLJhXmsZtZrbsk Dimash - GOLDEN Official Video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5nanmeAa7qErsk Dimash - Golden | 2021 (live): kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGq1Z2mYfs6Ui6s

You two are great together. Time for the fun side of Dimash. He is a beast on stage. Check out All by Myself from his New York solo concert. He has such a good time with his fans and proves he’s human after all. He forgets the lyrics, but typical Dimash, comes out of it beautifully. After that, try Opera 2, which is not an opera, just a great song that highlights Dimash’s fun side and incredible talent. You will find it in the I am a singer competition, 1917. He was only 22 then. Unbelievable. Other great covers: Lionel Ritchie’s Hello., Queen’s The Show Must go On, from the same show. Queen Medley with the Super Vocal Boys is another one. He grew up loving Queen music and Michael Jackson was his idol. You see a lot of MJ in his concert performances. Dimash is standing on the shoulders of giants. Buckle up. You’re in for a ride!

Thank you guys for another great reaction to Dimash! He is so much more than his wide vocal range, however impressive it is in and of itself. His voice has so many colors and tone to it, not mentioning his vocal dynamics. What I love about him is his ability to emote, which is second to none. He always loses himself in the songs he sings. It’s precisely thanks to his vocal mastery that he’s able to freely dive, and tap, into his emotions. As his listeners, we feel his emotions, precisely; and it moves us as a result. He draws everyone into his world and his emotional interpretation: to me, he’s the epitome of what a true passionate artist is, or should be. Cheers! It takes a LOT of effort to look this effortless! You might be born with a golden tone and perfect pitch, but then it takes Years and YEARS of dedicated training to get to this level. Not only every possible technique you can apply to / with the vocal chords, but core strength and lung capacity as well. Dimash approaches his artistry much like a Gold Standard Olympic Athlete. He literally does train every day, but Dimash says, aside from his formal vocal work, he just 'breathes music' 24/7. People around him confirm this. They report he just hums and sings and creates music just about every waking moment (and probably every sleeping moment also!} 😆 It's hard NOT to be captivated by Dimash. Not only his phenomenal talent but also the way he completely inhabits the storyline and conveys the emotion in every word, every note and every space between. He is a Storyteller and he has mastered every genre. Dimash deliberately declined sticking to classical music and taking up a very prestigious and lucrative position with his National Opera Company, Why? Because he didn't want to be confined to one genre. He demonstrates that creative cross-fertilisation 'Lives' in between and transcends genres. Transcends language, culture, land boundaries and speaks directly to everyone - everywhere. He transmits this to his listeners. 😊 [ # Have you done Endless Dimensions yet? The Video - Movie trailer for the Film 'Creators: The Past' I think you'll enjoy it. Brace yourselves for the end! 😆 ]

Another beautiful reaction. I have never been a fan of opera either, I don't like "normal" opera, but what he does is not opera, he calls it neo-classical, which incorporates his classical training with everything else, and he just makes everything sound good. Also you might be surprised by how many "metal heads" do reactions to Dimash and love it and come back for more, also rock fans love him, rappers love him. I cannot think of any music genre that he would be unable to do. Even people who absolutely don't love the songs, still like him or appreciate what he does, and you can't really ask for more than that. Looking forward to your next one. 😍😘

ik a na ee day = Ikanaide . I've watched you go from not wanting to hear Dimash, to now loving Dimash's music. I Think you are both either becoming Dears or you are already there. LOL. Welcome aboard, once Dimash gets into your soul, there's no letting go. He's like vitamins, you need to hear him daily. Don't worry that you wont be as impressed as you explore of Dimash, he just gets better. Love from a Disciple of Dimash, Los Angeles Chapter

the world is a big and diverse place and musically, there is a huge range to choose from. Dimash is that huge in terms of covering the genres he loves, he doesn't limit himself to one or two, that's one reason he appeals to many people whose taste in music differs from each others. In Dimash we get the best of all the worlds of music~ thanks for the reaction!

So glad you’re finally getting Dimash - he’ll reward your listening the more you discover - because, honestly, you still haven’t gone below the tip of the iceberg. Really. Next maybe Passione - an operatic take on Dante’s Inferno and innocence composed by Igor Krutoy with an amazing performance by Dimash. Ikanaide was his first song in Japanese live-streamed at the Tokyo Jazz Festival - incredible performance. Apparently, according to Japanese reactors, his Japanese was spot on. Dimash first sang the Chinese version Ikanaide called Autumn Strong (which is same same but different and just as beautiful) in the The Singer competition in 2017 when he was 22. It was his first song in Chinese to repay his Chinese fans for their support and it’s become a staple in his concert repertoire. If you have the time, watch this video from Gloria Wu’s channel of Dimash’s preparation and performance of Autumn Strong on The Singer and the interesting true story behind the song - it’s fascinating: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIm0ZmuLYqqXmsk 🙏🏻🇦🇺

Your reactions are very good and authentic. My favorite version of this song is the Chinese version that he did in 2020 in Kyiv a day before the pandemic put a stop to all the concerts. It’s a different interpretation but stunning especially since it’s live and he makes it a point to show that. His concerts are an experience, I went to see him in New York in 2019 and it was overwhelming to realize this voice is real 😊

You say Dimash has grown, but I think we as his listeners/fans/dears have done more growing from our “smaller” perspective of what music can or should be, to a much larger understanding of the power of music. Off course Dimash is not the only singer/musician showing us more, but certainly he is one of the most impressive “teachers” of the understanding of the power of music. And he does it so elegantly and humbly.

Mike, you look great and Taylor, you're beautiful, always!!! A must react is LOVE IS LIKE A DREAM - Moscow concert- burgundy suit AND, compare that to LOVE IS LIKE A DREAM- Slavinski Bazaar 2021 - but wait, wait, wait, he is stranded on stage after the performance, will make a speech, introduce his MOM, go into the audience and return to the stage - well worth your time - Luv the two of you as a couple - a showcase of his acting skills is BE WITH ME- MV - Thanks for this reaction, have a great week - a Canadian dear~ DAYBREAK is another soul wrenching performance but you need his initial performance on I AM SINGER with the background story and compare that to DAYBREAK - Bastau concert when he had his full voice - it's the true story of a cable car disaster in China in 1999 that took the life of 14 tourists- one young couple were able to lift their son to safety but plunged to their death - Han Hong, who wrote the original song, adopted that young boy and the song is written from his perspective - HAUNTING!- Dimash performs it in China after having 5 injections in his throat as a result of loosing his voice. His latest concert, in Almaty Kazakstan is available on his channel in 3 parts - he does everything in approximately 3 hours Would appreciate it if you would please turn up your sound - thanks so much!
