First time I've heard of Ren. He's got raw talent, vast vocabulary, his delivery is fresh. Has poetic content, unlike most "rappers" especially in mainstream rap/"hip hop" these days. Thanks for the Ren reaction, guys 🤙🏾

OMG you're in for a ride then. Go down the rabbit hole, you have no idea what you'll encounter. Start with Hi Ren. I envy you. If you do I'd appreciate if you shared your thoughts here. P. S. Don't watch if KZbin recommends you tale of Jenny, tale of Screech or tale of Violet, don't watch them separately, there is one long video in witch al the songs are played in the correct order, called "The tale of Jenny and Schreech"

@@stranger2Utube thanks for the heads up! I'm an old school real hip hop head and over the years slowly steered away from the genre (not completely, but close though). The scene in 90's till about the early 2010s was amazing, then it seemed to have phased out during the mid 2010's at least in my opinion. it's refreshing to see that there still meaningful hip hip being put out. Anyway, I will be back here to share my thoughts regarding those tracks you mentioned. Thanks again and have a peaceful day 🤙🏾

Thanks for this, really enjoyed it. I would highly suggest you watch the chapters for sure. I know you both think so much of Ren. Some of his life story you will know but some of it will blow you away hearing it read and put together in such a concise way. Ren could make a movie about his life. Warning though, be prepared to spend some time with it. Its tough but beautiful and you'll never listen to his music the same way again. You will have all the emotions, it may get to where you dont want to watch anymore around the middle of the chapters but keep going, its worth it and you need to go to the ending to have closure. Its just beautiful.

@@Killermcknight I agree F the haters, I ❤how real the two of you are & how Taylor truly wears her heart on her sleeve. Oh BTW the "There's relief in the teeth, at the kiss of cold steel" line, wasn't a metaphor of him contemplating ending his own life. Ren was telling us of the time he actually cut himself (self harm), he goes into detail about it in chapter 4, I think. If you do go through Ren's chapters; even though I've already watched all of them, I would probably watch them again with both of you. I love this one, it's such an important message. Side note: I don't recommend pulling up subtitles for any of Ren's songs - they're rarely accurate. Instead, maybe pull up the lyrics on an alternate device that you can have off to the side? That way you can still reference the lyrics, which I know is helpful, without the distraction on the screen.

It's one of his simplest songs, but has one of the most important messages of hope. I've had my troubles with these sort of ailments, although perhaps not at the degree of his Lyme, mine are still hard to deal with, and sometimes it's hard living in a body at war with itself, physically and mentally tired without actually doing anything, and instead of help people, even the ones closest to you, calling you lazy and a bum. But you grit your teeth and deal with it. It does not help that many of these conditions are not really well studied by science, and quite a few of them are caused by it, in the interest of taking a rent cheque out of a chronically ill person's body. Yes, I said it. But hey, nobody promised anyone an easy life, and you live with what you have and try to make it better. These sort of things need knowledge, determination and time and many people will indeed get to a better place. Hope and faith in yourself is the way to deal with these slow burn diseases. Eventually you'll figure it out and live the right way to feel better.

I’m sorry for the things you e had to go through. You seem to have a positive outlook and attitude about it, and that can make all the difference in the world. People are ignorant to things they know nothing about, or things they haven’t personally gone through themselves. Bringing attention and awareness helps that. ♥️
@Zepherian7 ай бұрын
@@Killermcknight It's a mix of positivity, being negative will only make things worse, and also the subtle nature of chronic fatigue and intolerances. What Ren went through was undoubtedly worse, his condition seems more acute and harsh. But that's the thing, sometimes the problem is there, it's subtle to the point you're not fully aware you have it and yet it's still limiting your quality of life. So yes, these sort of conditions, from Lyme to Gluten intolerances need to be studied, as well as the link with the neurological side, where you have the autism epidemic probably linked to the root causes of these modern diseases. And there are many, from Vaccines to Dentistry. From genetics to processed food toxicity. I'm guessing sometimes it's more than one vector unbalancing a given person, so you can't even get to one easily isolated root cause and have someone damaged by several. I think that's my case. I guess my conclusion is we need to find a natural balance again, and that balance won't be the exact same thing for everyone. Hopefully you guys don't have any of these problems, they suck! But I'm ok, I'm not a young guy so this thing didn't kill me and in the last few years I've identified causes and am doing quite a bit better than before. Thx for the reply.

A lovely reaction. The “kiss of cold steel” line I believe is a reference to self harm (and echos the line in the Nine Inch Nails / Johnny Cash song “Hurt” - “ I hurt myself today, to see if I still feel”. ) Also you never need to apologise for how you react to a song. Some reactors don’t stop / say anything until the end of a song; some stop after every line. There are enough reaction channels out there to suit everyone’s preference so you do what suits you. 👍

You definitely need to watch the chapters. Whether you watch them on your own or with us - is your decision. Just know there has been a lot of debate among the reactor community about whether it's right to react to the chapters - everyone obviously did with Chapter 1 - but after that, a lot were questioning whether they should. I can see both sides of the argument, but the reason a lot are thinking it's not right to react is because it's Ren's story and it's deeply personal, and there isn't really much to add - and in some cases adding your own thoughts kind of takes away from his story. Each chapter does have a song at the end though, which you could react to - after you have watched all the chapters on your own, and if it's a live stream, you can always give your thoughts on all the chapters after you have privately watched them. But like I said - it's up to you.
