I just got my ZOMBIE a little over a week ago. First hobby grade rc ever. I found that if you loosen the front battery strap and unclip it from the outside it works great. I'm from the great white North and we just got a foot of snow so I've only had it out 3xs. I'm really enjoying it and just love taking it out and beating on it. Thanks for the great content on your channel Gary.

Hey Gary. One quick question for you.... Will 3.8 Badlands fit on my ZOMBIE? Just ordered a 20 kg steering servo and a 15 tooth and a 17 tooth pinion. Think after I put those upgrades in my next step will be a set of tires.

Yes but they ride pretty close to the body. Sounds like a good setup

Thanks for the video! How would you compare this to the Arrma Granite 3S BLX? I've read all the spec differences and seen reviews, but curious what you in particular think of the differences and which you would recommend for what type of person/driver. Not so much as far as value since you already discussed that, but more about performance. (I'm aware the Zombie 8E is now priced higher at $300ish, but does include a battery).

I think mine did come with a battery. The Zombie I think is a much better rig

New subscriber , I've watched a few of your videos and solid bro I truly appreciate your full honesty, now I'm going to voice a totally unpopular opinion and tell you , the tires work better turned around. Think of the tread as an arrow head , do you want the arrow to cut through the turf ? Probably not! Turn them around and suddenly the dynamic changes. Also if you look at its sale listings they're mounted opposite of how you have them . Seriously just my humble opinion but it also seems to make a little sense. I have a Zombie not the best RC I own, not the worst great review and I think it's a great bang for your buck not just because of the price point but also because of the cost of replacement parts . Fully build center diff $18 , fully built front and rear diff $30 . Stock shocks set of two $20 and all the parts that make up those parts are $2 or $3 if your willing to put the work in . For that simple reason I rate it just a bit higher than you did but I totally respect your review, your honesty and keeping it real with everyone in times when its easy to sell out so keep rocking it bro you got fan that'll keep on watching to consider my next purchase

Good honest review Gary. I think this truck really shines when compared to something like the Traxxas E Maxx or E Revo brushed editions. Those are above $350 and the performance per dollar ratio pales in comparison to the Zombie, even on just 3s. This truck competes with the likes of the Redcat Landslide, JLB Cheetah, and Vkar Bison. Out that group the Zombie would be my pick, even though the JLB trucks are a bit faster. The DHK is just better built, IMO.

Bill L Or also look into the jlb cheetah. He has a bunch of recent bash videos on his channel. There is 2 different styles the truggy version gary has and also a truck style without the wing that i had bought. Look for the extreme 120a esc Model that they sometimes have on sale for around 250-300$ other than it retail for around 350. But that truck gary linked was my other choice when I was looking for a 1/10 scale truck.

I agree, every radio should have throttle dual rates. I like trim knobs over Traxxas style, electronic dual rates. I never get consistent settings with Traxxas radios.

Battery tray and steering servo both suck. I hated dealing with those stupid stock straps. I pulled the battery tray off and put longer straps under the tray and then screwed it back down. Way better! I also put in a JX 20 kg servo in (Got that idea from your channel. Thank you!). Way better with a servo upgrade. It’s durability has been great for me. My 4 y/o son has been learning to jump and bash with this. No issues with anything breaking. And the throttle dual rate was great for him after he ran it into a curb at full throttle (still no breakage). Tires have been fine for us. Not great but work fine for my son. It doesn’t hold a candle to my Kraton but it costs a lot less and I agree with you that for the price point it’s a good deal. And on 4s it is a lot of fun which is really what it’s all about.

I love those JX servos. I like this rig but the JLB is a much better rig but does cost about $70 more but I think it's worth it

KillerOffRoadHobbyz - The previous reviews I saw put the JLB on par with the Zombie (obviously their opinion based on their experiences with them) so the cheaper price was a no brainer for me. Also, I was less worried about top speed and that seemed to be the JLB’s main advantage. I was just getting back into rc and was looking for a better bashing rig than my brushed Redcat and this filled he bill perfectly. I’ve since upgraded to my Kraton and the Zombie has become my son’s rc and it works great for him. I want to upgrade to an MT410 but I have to wait until I have time to build it so that will be awhile. Probably gonna pick up a new V3 Senton in the meantime. This hobby is too addictive and expensive but so much fun! And thanks for all the great videos you are doing and the honest opinion reviews you give. You are doing a great job!

Can u spray the inside of the body with that flex seal rubber coating to reinforce it?? Sort of like a spray on liner for a truck bed

I have a redcat earthquake 8E and it is almost exactly the same thing. First and only redcat I'll ever buy. It is fun to drive but there were a lot of issues with it.
