You forgot THE most expensive game, Super Mario Bros 1 in the retail box. Why? Because for the first few months of the NES lifecycle, Gyromite (and R.O.B.) were included and NOT SMB1. When R.O.B. failed, the NES then began being sold with SMB included and nobody needed to buy it separately. Because of this short timespan, SMB sold separately in the retail box was relatively limited. If I could've saw the future I would've saved mine. So yes, I have a separate retail copy, but not the box :(

Why would anyone want to for those prices? There's far better games that cost $5-$10 dollars both retro and modern. This is just elitist collectors that gave into propaganda over reason.

There were 3 "versions" of the DuckTales lunchbox releases: 150 for NTSC + 150 for PAL + unknown releases of AP (Artist Proof) edition. Artist Proof meant that it was signed by the artist himself, and thus, it wasn't numbered. That version was way more valuable than the numbered version. Back in "the golden age of collecting", AP-version went easily for about $4000-5000 complete, depending on the condition. The numbered ones went for about $2000-3000. About $2000 is what one could expect with a crappy number, which was about what I sold mine for (I had a PAL-version with a crappy number in the 50s). I saw low-numbered ones go for $3000+. 4 other high-valuable CIB NES-games worth mentioning that goes for $10000+ (CIB = Complete in box) are Mah Jong (Hong Kong), Myriad 6-in-1, Caltron 6-in-1 and Snowboard Challenge (ESP) Always fun to see a channel that I am a fan of pull up these lists. As someone who's a PAL/SCN-collector, I wish you would've at least mentioned in the description that these are the top 10 most expensive NTSC/american games, although that's just details. Keep up the good work! :)

The five screw Mega Man is insanely rare. I really wonder how many copies actually exist, because I’ve been looking for one for about 25 years and I’ve never seen one. I know it exists, but it exists outside the normal realm of rare five screw status. That’s why it’s so expensive. I’ve owned three CIB “Dr. Wright” versions of Mega Man and all of them three screw.

Wow hardcore collector lol my filthy casual self would just get the switch versions (dqm counts as dq4 sequel to me, especially considering versatility in party members and cameos from final boss Psaro's point of view). Do hate that dq3 isn't that customizable given the sexy/vamp personality spiking stats with women and only using thief, merchant and martial artist for early game though you could make a merchant into a martial artist to get 10k gold with a high lucky dig (gadabout sucks outside whistle for metal slime hunting). Still, it is fun to track prices, and I'm glad psvr2 is gonna be great this Q4 2023 with angry birds, a lower $350 gently used price and a buncha releases. I admit the range of expensive games is interesting.

I cry every time I see a list like this, since I had one of those NWC cartridges!! They were giving those as the prize for winning each division at each local stop, and my neighbor won the 10 (or 12?) and under division. We played it ALL THE TIME, and when he got bored with it he traded it to me for something I can't even remember. Then my dumbass traded it again to another friend later on! 😭

We need more game stores running tournaments on the official NWC cartridges where the prize IS the cartridge. Have the entry fee high enough the store makes its money and then some from the purchase price of the cartridge. There should be more people who own these carts because they won them by being the best at the trio of NWC games than who bought them directly.

If you actually want to play any of these games. I mean other than Little Samson these games are expensive because they’re either the limited edition version, or they’re just terrible games that have such limited quantities that that’s the reason why they’re expensive in the first place. But yeah, emulate Little Samson for sure. Duck Tales is fun, but it’s not expensive and you’re better off playing any of the Mega Man sequels honestly.

I bought "Stadium Events" for less than a dollar, back in the old Funco {FuncoLand} era. I bought the Panesian trilogy of adult games for $25 each, I think, when a local video store closed. After completing my NES collection, the N64 was already released, and I started buying as many of them as I could... I got all of them too... 😉Sadly my NES collection is the worse for wear, as I got lots of ripped label carts and things like that, and I wanted to play the games so didn't care what condition they were in. I loved being one of the first USA players to get "Bananas Prince" beat it, and translate it into English. I do have the FDS and the 64DD, but tried to use them very little as rewriting onto the same disk felt like it would wear out the reader-writer{s}.

Thanks for the video gruz but once I saw the price for Mega Man 1 I hastily ran to my closet dug out my container full of cartridges pulled out Mega Man and was immediately crushed. It was the 3 screw variant😭. For a brief moment I thought I had something left that was extremely valuable in my collection after selling a couple of rare NES and Super NES in 2015 that I bought back in the mid 90s to early 2000s from Funcoland for cheap at the time. I sold them at the time for 2 reasons the 1st one to buy my son some clothes for school and the 2nd reason was more of an impulse to go to Las Vegas for the 1st time with my girlfriend at the time. I still have some rare Sega Genesis games in my collection which I may pass on down to my granddaughter.

I know of another one that could be on this list. Stack Up as we all know, is one of only two games that were released for use with R.O.B. the robot. The other game, Gyromite, is pretty easy to get your hands on but Stack Up is around $180.00 for a loose cartridge and upwards of around $1,200.00 for a copy complete in box. Ouch! You could, in theory at least, lower the price by gathering the pieces separately, as mentioned above it's around $180.00 for the cartridge and upwards of around $300.00 for the empty box (though, hopefully the plastic tray is still inside so you have a place to store everything). The arms and blocks are the only problem with this equation because I haven't seen any 'real' copies for sale loose yet so I don't know how much they would typically go for these days but we'll say around $200.00 - $300.00 for sake of argument. That's around $500.00 - $700.00 all together which means that you're getting a complete copy of Stack Up for about half the price and of course the sacrifice of convenience but, hey, at least it would work...if I could only find a legit set of arms and blocks instead of cheap, 3D printed replacements. I would also like to throw in a quick correction here, I just found two copies of the Nintendo World Championships gold cartridge on EBay and the sellers were asking one million and two million respectively. I hope that nobody was dumb enough to actually pay that much knowing that they are worth about half of that.
