We don’t know if you’ve noticed this, but video games are very expensive. Sure, inflation and rising production costs are somewhat to blame, but that’s not much of a consolation when a single title costsas much as it would to keep you stocked up with frozen pizzas for five months. No matter how expensive games and their special editions get, however, there are some classic titles that will always be even more extortionate, thanks to rarity or condition, which makes it so that few people are going to be able to ever realistically acquire them, and we’re looking at some of these costly collector’s items today. Here are the 10 Most Valuable Video Games.

If you look at 10:40, the video actually shows WATA and Heritage named in the picture of the "sold" cartridge. Feels like TripleJump are actually, albeit unintentionally, promoting the scammers here. That's... really really bad. TripleJump, if you're reading these comments - please post a retraction.

Hm, think this vid was a misstep, lads. Needed a bit more research. As many other comments have said these are mostly fairly common games and there was a big scammy bubble around 2021. Sonic 1, for example, is extremely common and easy to find complete copies of. Not 2 days ago I found a copy of it at CeX for like, £5! There are rare and uncommon games out there that are interesting to look into, and these ain't them.

When most of these games are some of the most common on the system and all they have going for them is they are still sealed then you should definitely be suspicious as usually high prices for games were for once that had very small production runs or were never officially released but had a handful of copies made. Some of the prices were artificial in order to try and make others think they held more value than they actually did

it's important to distinguish between the "collector's market" and the "consumer market". A consumer is someone who is going to rip open the box, play the game and enjoy it. Sorry that's not how rarity works. That's like saying "Food Fight" on the Atari Lynx is rare because it only released on the Lynx. Yeah, it only released on the Lynx, but the standard number of copies was manufactured, so it's not rare. It's just that the Lynx was a failure, so nobody cares. Ditto with the Saturn. Don't get me wrong, I liked the Saturn, but "rare" in collector terms is dependent on the number of actual CDs the publisher released. Fighters Megamix was fairly popular, so they released a large number of discs, so it isn't rare.
