Simple green breaks down the sticky substance that they leave behind that attracts more to come. I spray house with dish soap/water, and then next day I spray house with simple green. Works great in Oregon.

I've used pure vinegar but not sure if it worked. Then half vinegar and soapy water...then just soapy water. Could be that the bugs died and were replaced by new ones but I seem to be fighting a losing battle!

If I am going to bother doing that I can just squash them.. I was hoping it would attract them to a bowl of this

Does it have to be Dawn dish soap or will virtually any brand work as they can't be very much different from each other, can they?
@DarusEifler3 жыл бұрын
I've also used the Kroger brand dish soap and it worked the same.

Why is it always Dawn dish soap? I don't really think that after 50 years, they have any proprietary formula. Any detergent will do the same job here, and that is to cut through the waxy coating on their exoskeleton.

I found that simple green is great at keeping them from returning to an area for a very decent amount of time. The simple green breaks down the sticky substance they leave behind, especially if you’ve smashed them.

When there is just a few I catch them in a puff of toilet paper and manipulate the bug till the head is exposed and the break the head back (guts come out) they cannot think to stink therefore they can't stink. The same port they came in on has now introduced the worst bug infestation in 150 years, the Spotted Lantern Fly! They make stinkbugs nothing to make a stink about.

Thank you for the video. These bugs started showing up & I needed something quick, cuz it's not like a small ant. Anyways, I had a funny comment idea to try. (doubt it will work). But my thought is this: why not beat the stink with my own created smell. l like the smell of bacon and I know this is a bad idea.......But.
