Maria Bello is a great actress but it just wasn’t the same without Rachel Weisz in it. She created the part of Evie and nobody else could really play the part to match her portrayal. IMO, that was the single biggest flaw to this movie and it had a huge domino effect on the movie overall. The chemistry between Maria Bello and Brendan Fraser just couldn’t match the one between Rachel and Brendan. I know that she wasn’t in this one due to scheduling conflicts, they should have just postponed the movie until she was available. That would have saved this movie and made it worthy of the franchise.

So nameless Hero (2002) decided to spare emperor because he understood his vision for the world and "everything under sky", but eventually took his place after death and decided to conquer whole world with emperor names.
